I definitely prefer the gold over the concrete.
There perhaps try to make this fake 3D fit inside the sign, or was it actually your intension to crop it like this? ;)
It was my intention to crop it in the first place to make it look more like a block made out of gold instead of just a golden plate, but creating just golden plates sounds interesting too...
I rather meant the surrounding of the arrows on the concrete Paint Blast sign, as the golden plates are nice as they are

Actually it is a simple texture or shader effect, it isn't scriptable at all. Unless Nadeo makes the shader scripts available.
Perhaps indeed for the future.

Well, I can edit them at any time, because I have the Photoshop (PSD) file. I'm brainstorming for more concepts too!

It would be nice in the future to be able to edit light maps, shinyness and all that stuff... Also on the environment mods! It would add a lot of good possibilities to edit the textures to what's best for your PC. Ofcourse we got the graphic options, but this would make it even more customizable.

*g* this reminds me of the times when I was working on a Star Wars Mod
I was texturer, and had to recreate textures 4 to 16x as big as the originals.
But this is another history, and very past now 8-)

So you was the texturer? You used Photoshop? Or do you have an other good program to create textures?

Yeah.
That time (as pupil) I could'nt afford to purchase PhotoShop, so I opted for PaintShop Pro, and I was still happy with it.
Especially as it also could use same plugins as PhotoShop, like KPT or others.
Now I could afford, I don't need it that much anymore, and I don't have time to learn all its functions. That's life
I also got lot of inputs and ideas from other games and also from free texture sites, especially http://lemog.fr/, but their texture site is down actually.
Sometimes, especially for pipe structures, and to get really realistic lighting, I created objects and rendered them with PovRay.

I also recreated some animated panels, this was my favorite work.
Just a few examples:

@TMarc
Really cool textures! Good idea to use some sort of 3D program to render the pipes and stuff. I can't afford one of those programs either, but I really need it for my study (photography and photo editing)

Thank you YonCan & Elmigo :thx:

There are also reduced price for students, or ask at your university if they can provide you some version.
Paint Shop Pro is not that much expensive, it is roughly a tenth of what PhotoShop costs.
And PovRay is totally free, but it requires heavy scripting as you can modify really everything there.

Or try out Blender as frontend.
