VOIP for SM?

Ok so after watching some of the Alpha Videos on You Tube i notices a lot of people are voice chatting which is a good thing because an FPS without the ability to shout profanities at each other get a bit boring and text chat isn't helpful if you want to curse at someone blacking you way or some other n00bish act (ok I kid a lot there)
So anyway, my question is are those guys Using Team-speak/Ventrilo or does SM have its very own VOIP?
Id prefer SM had its own VIOP by default that can be activated by the host In-game server side but weather this is actually possible or feasible is another thing
I dont know how much info's you Alpha guys can tell us but if this is one of those things then it would be helpful to all so we can prepare our own VOIP services in anticipation for release and give us time to advertise our service to the public should SM not come with its own VOIP

Maybe another question is if it isn't implemented would Nadeo be willing to implement such a service?

Ah before someone pipes up with Age restriction related jargon.... dont forget that we already have to opt-out on this sort of thing with custom avatars, horns and other such customised material in TM so i dont think that VOIP would become an issue with game ratings and other such legislation

That looks very promising.... If the Enter Key is PTT :D
Though PTT isn't always good so hopefully it can be set via sensitivity also so you can free speech like in ventrilo, well that presuming the Enter key in the picture is a VOIP PTT button

No, you're wrong. AFAIK there's not such a function.

I interpret that picture as there being no VOIP, just text say and teamsay.

There is no VOIP. The "Talk to Team" button simply puts a command in the chat so you can send a test based message to your team mates on the server.

I don't know what people are using for voice chat. It probably depends on the server and/or team. Some probably use Mumble, others TeamSpeak, and even some probably use Skype (like myself). Some of these apps have the ability to have overlays in-game.

In ShootMania there is a button to tag a player's location though, so even in team based play there are non-audible ways to cue your team mates as to the location of the opposing team.

It was confirmed today by cerovan in little interview that there will be no native VOIP in Shootmania

:( that sux however im sure a lot of hosters will also host their own VOIP to run along side their own servers, hopefully they will run a linkable scrip that automatically connects you to their VOIP service in server provided the used has the required VOIP software installed

dunno if that's what you're talking about, but:

>>the game won’t include an in-voice (VoIP) chat but a plugin for teamspeak will be available
