Is This Game worth Buying? (Dead?)

I've owned TM:UF for about a year now, and I really liked it. My computer died about 2 months ago, and
I just recently got a new one. Today I re-installed TM:UF, and there was <70 people, all of which were on TM:NF servers. I've been thinking about buying TM2, but I'm worried that there's going to be the same number, if not less people.

So, is this game fun/alive, or boring/dead?

<70? oO only on the rpg server where i drive dayly are always 20-30 people at the same time and rpg isnt that popular in tm :D i guess u connected at a bad time, remember its around 6 am in europe and the most players are from there.

To your question: At the moment in Canyon are around 50 players, but the reason is also the time^^ i cant say how many are online normally cus i just play rpg and canyon isnt a good envi for it, so i dont play it

It is a working day today, so its rather logic that there are less player.
the only people who play now are from somewhere where its night
or teenagers who have made their exams and have vacation (like me  )

And we also have to Shootmania alpha, that draws away some player from tm

There is normally 300-600 players in canyon, unless you play in the morning or late night.

The problem is for those of us who aren't in Europe -- it's much harder to find an active server that's worth playing. In that regard, at least for those in North America, Canyon is a little bit better than TMUF because there are more Americans who play more regularly (at least in my experience). And not to mention more Canadians from outside of Quebec.
And the problem is again, workdays -- you don't really have the leisure to play whenever you want and by the time you're able, most of the European playerbase is already in bed.

This game would be worth buying even if no one else played it.

Yeah, the game is still quite nice. Depending on the time you log on, you still find a bunch of players. But they mostly hang out on minimap or fullspeed maps. A small minority plays for the ladder and plays tech maps. Same goes for the trial section (which is really fun ^^). If you find yourself in one of this categories, the go and buy it :D
