Okay, so define "closed-beta." Does that mean really, it's only for our notification purposes? That really, only staff will be beta-testing for TM2? Or are there ways to get a key? I'm not asking, cuz I know I probably won't get one anyway

Just out of curiosity.

Ive been in tms and tmu beta, missed tmnf so would be sad to miss this one again.

I guess you just have to wait and hope that "they call you".

so I think they will invite only people from the community and not a schedule where everyone can make a apply. But also its called closed beta so Im pretty sure that only the Community will be invited, because there is more interaction and communication between developers and Community then anywhere else..

Closed beta means only certain people can join. It could take several forms.
- You could apply, and wait to be accepted.
- You could get an invitation directly from Nadeo.
- You could get in and then get the ability to invite a certain number of your own friends.
Basically it just means that it's not going to be an "open beta"... which would be free for anyone to try.

Hm. Well, then I'm quite sure almost any members of the forum will apply...

I will be happy to help Nadeo in any way that I can.

So I made some research
we have 950 community members which have NO posts ( 0 posts)
than we have 475 members which have under 5 posts ( just registered to get maybe an beta key or just inactive)
that means 1425 of 1908 members are totally inactive
582 members left
if we go through all left 582 members we see that 2/4 didnt wrote an post for 1 month , we have 291 members left, who have active posts in the last times ( posts in the last month)
so when we search about members, which posted more than 10 posts last month ( really active ) we have about 100 members left
so of this 100 members, we all have a good chance to get a beta key
I dont know exactly how Nadeo is picking this beta testers, but 1 big reason will be activity.
Regards
Max

I sure hope its not about activity on this forum
I hope that if they are actually picking people, they pick it based on TM1 activity too...

I highly doubt it ...
I want to make a note here. Please and I'm begging you, please keep the selection proposals to a minimum. Nadeo, specially Alinoa (according to Florent) is in charge of Alpha/beta operations and will be creating the selection scheme.
Posting your ideas and thoughts about beta selection mean rumours get spread around the community, some rumours make people unhappy and some make others happy, of course all of these rumours are incorrect. If we can keep this to an absolute minimum, I'm sure everyone will be equally happy in due time.
Quotes such as '
Nah, only famous people get into the beta' are not helpful, nor are they true. The beta
may not be based on activity or fame etc. Let Nadeo decide how they'll distribute the beta, let chance decide if you'll get in or not.
