Question about the beta download

On some topics i have seen the link to download the Alpha version of Shootmania, im not in the alpha, but i want to play the beta as soon as possible and my connection is veeeery slow (100kb/s). so my question is:
Will the Beta be an Update of the actually alpha version or is it a completely new download every player must load?
If its an update i will start download the Alpha today and i dont need too much time on 2nd July to play the game
