Maybe this was suggested already. But a quick look through the topics and I didn't see it.

Suggestion is quite simple:
Color codes and other formatting tags should not count against the maximum length of your display name in-game.

Yeah I am pretty sure we already had a topic like this suggesting exactly what you said.
But i neither cannot find it
