MP 2 Welcome Screen (Windows 8?)

Hi all,
Just a simple question. Why does the Maniaplanet 2 welcome page work like the new Windows 8 OS? What is the thought behind the interface, seeing as we can't use our fingers (unlike a tablet) to use the system?
Thanks.

Just a funny coincidence, I never used Windows 8 interface and never tougth to make the same
We may introduce, however, a parameter for ManiaScript to know if the Manialink is running on tablet and get the input linked with it for the abilty to create more tablets friendly Manialink. We have other priorities at the moment however!

Hi Hylis,
I think it is important for players to understand where and why the thought of (how many years) x years has resulted in a home interface like the one we see, which is why I will try and explain myself in a more detailed manner.

Don't worry, I'm not accusing you of some copyright or stealing ideas... Of course, lots of other companies also take ideas from each other (pretty much every kind of company), and are inspired- that's normal and impossible not to do, but my point is not 'Did you get this interface idea from Windows 8' but rather 'Why did you create an interface such as the Windows 8?' - see the difference?
Now, this is your response to my why:
Hylis wrote:We may introduce, however, a parameter for ManiaScript to know if the Manialink is running on tablet and get the input linked with it for the ability to create more tablets friendly Manialink. We have other priorities at the moment however!
From my first post you should assume that I am not talking about tablets. I'm not talking about how MP would work on tablets. I'm definitely not talking about how the development of MP would work with tablets, rather, I am specifically asking about PC (hence the
''seeing as we can't use our fingers (unlike a tablet) to use the system?'' to which you did not answer...
...If I have to be honest I think that (from what you wrote above) you don't have a reason to why the MP2 interface is like the Win8 OS
for PC. The only reason you have given for the new interface we all see on MP2 is: the distant 'When it is ready' future development of MP working to some degree with tablets. I guess this topic (about MP compatibility with tablets) is for another thread and discussion) but remember that the thousands of players who play/ed on TM were/are all PC gamers, not tablet huggers.
Oh... and on a side note about the priorities... I understand it's not a priority any more, but for all that time that it was under development were these questions not asked?

another proof of why MP2 homescreen redesign should be considered:
some people can't even find how to go into editor! (there are many more examples of that even on this forum, just too lazy to search)

Exactly. I guess some might think 'Well, its obvious etc etc' but the issiue is that a good UI is only good when every person doesn't ever have to ask where and what features are and do.
(I am still waiting for an answer btw)

yet another person who has problems:

nadeo, it might be more important than you think.

Not to mention the consistency in Hylis choosing to reply to one set of questions (the ones he can answer) and leave out the others.... so many times this has happened and I always seem to get frustrated!
I should be used to it by now...
