Streamline the browser/UI more

I'll keep this short and sweet, starting Shootmania is a nightmare, the amount of options and useless things I don't need when searching through the menus is completely overwhelming and useless, just keep it to a simple server browser with filters and drop the overly-childish UI in the menus (I'm talking about the flags etc) They don't suit it at all. I'm relatively new to Nadeo's games while having played a few beforehand but there's no need for 5 different submenus to connect to a server with people in my same region, I'm pretty sure that people in Britain can connect to people that are more than 5 miles away from them and not lost connection.
Sort it out, it looks unprofessional and off-putting for new guys, and first impressions count, even if your game is spectacular your UI could be total crap and people will despise it.

from what you said, I just understood you don't like the flags, lol. and where is it hard to connect to the server? go to storm - multiplayer - all - click on server - join.

That's not it at all, I just think the UI is overly complex and unnecessary, the in game UI looks childish too, I'm not saying it's all flowery happy dappy but there's certain things we could do without, such as the players in the top left/right. There's just so much un-needed information scattered about the screen, that's what I'm getting at.

I don't really mind the UI, it's fine. Indeed, I think it could use a touch up as well but it works.
I'm more concerned about the lack of browsing options. Sorting by name/players/ping is completely at random, with no option for the user to select which. The search function is a neat idea, but rarely works at all.
If you focus on the functions first, the UI will follow accordingly.

TrackMania community is fine with the same UI for years.

Also: Add a in-game console.. It's the fastest way to change your settings on the fly, imho.

how many settings are there in SM that you would change often enough? except input settings I can't think of any at all.

A console wouldn't replace anything.. It's just a bonus. Therefore I don't understand your resentment.

Apart from the fact that input settings are very important and I play around with them quite a bit, I also tend to change my graphic/audio/hud settings via console.
In conclusion:

In conclusion:

Console would add unnecessary UI element on top of existing. Also, adding console would leave us with -1 key-bind. Console is a bonus, but it is not a thing that developers must focus on now. They have to finish the product, not start making bonuses. And last, but not the least - 'I tend', 'I play', 'I can't think'. Stop going game-expert mode while having only subjective opinion on things that is based neither on statistical facts nor on research.
