Beta doesn't work AT ALL![fixed]

Hi there!
I seem to be fortunate enough to have a beta invitation.
There's one problem - I can't play the game.
I keep getting the error that the game cannot write config settings to such and such a file, and when I first ran the game it told me I needed to update or I couldn't play. So I did the update and restarted the game. This config error keeps appearing every time I start the launcher, and the game keeps telling me to restart the game.
What's going on? I really want to play, but this stupid error won't let me!
