Today I heard a player with a custom horn sound and thought to myself I should get one myself.

But the problems I encountered just piled up on another, so I just this moment gave up...

The problem is that the sound is REALLY low when I play it in-game, so I was wondering if it may be a game bug(?) or if it's a bad convert. Because I can play the files with a media player and the sound is superb, but after they are added to the game they seem to be strangled or something xD

The thing's I have tried is as follow's;
- mp3 and WAV convert to .ogg
- Plain WAV file
- tested all files added to the default horn zip file
(basically I just added every sound file to every horn zip, or folder i could find)

yes, it´s getting strangled.
I think there is an effect set on it, like in a tunnel, where you get hall effect.
on horn it is strangle effect.
It is really a pain in audio quality, if you wanted to get it to a good audible loundness.
becouse u must maximazing it.

get a "free audio editor" <<<<-google!<<<<
maximize, save and try again in game.

for me nadeo could rework the horn engine,
but this would resoult in a much bigger pain in our ears, becouse of all the existing over maximized horns
and I think this is the reason why they would not do it.

oh, should I read the wiki or isn´t it the answer from alinoa?

edit: if you are not to take a special self made horn by you,
you can simply get a horn from manialinks, there the horns are mostly maximized.

I have question - why horns are allowed in SM at all? in TM you could just turn off all the opponents, so you don't hear the horns; in SM this is of course impossible.

I am sry to say this, but it is becouse nadeo are noobs.
they just copy & paste their code from tm to storm, rewrite a bit of it to get it work
and release a public beta "FOR MONEY"!
not copy and paste? go playerpage and see server rules for storm, this is just lol!

they sell pre-order: 1) with lower price; 2) give the opportunity to play the beta.
