chat key bindings do not work

The default chat key bindings of Enter, T and C do not function in Canyon Multiplayer. I have tried rebinding them to something else, but that doesn't help. Resetting defaults doesn't help. Deleting my user-data folder doesn't help. This problem has been present prior to ManiaPlanet 2.0 as well.
