So my friends had been complaining that their DeltaShot Lagspikes were ruining the game for them... Since I being a tech guru from AionSource, I took it upon myself to attempt to fix their problem.

In order to fix this lag there are two things I have attempted and I have not been able to identify which is the solution but doing both seems to fix the problem for both of my friends.

Keep in mind we did this on windows 7 so I can't guarantee anything for other OS's.

Step 1: Allow all incoming and outgoing connections for Shootmania.
-Click start->search "firewall" ->click "Windows Firewall with Advanced Security" -> Inbound Rule -> New Rule -> Select Program -> Browse to your Shootmania.exe file -> Select "Allow Connection" -> Keep all boxes checked -> Name it anything, I did "SM MP" -> Finish.
Outbound Rule -> New Rule -> Select Program -> Browse to your Shootmania.exe file -> Select "Allow Connection" -> Keep all boxes checked -> Name it anything, I did "SM MP" -> Finish.

Step 2: Then open the updater file located in your Shootmania path.

This is all I can remember but when I get home I will go through and find out which other files can be deleted. I took out other steps because people think its harmful.

Let me know what works and what doesn't, this isn't a guarantee but its worth a shot!

why should the config files be deleted? they contain more than just network settings!

Warning: don't delete any files, or do it at your own risk, do a backup before, but don't complain then that something else is missing or not working

they contain all your profiles too!

All you need to do is change your settings again.... Config files store info and sometimes they can become corrupted. My friends did this and it fixed their systems lag.

files can become "corrupt" propably when settings are modified without really knowing it, or because of all the beta updates, then some settings might be imcompatible or cause issues. -> to be checked by Nadeo

Well if people can't play in the meantime its up to the players to fix it themselves... I don't know why you are being so aggressive. Go post else where?

There is absolutely nothing agressive or offending in my post above, what do you want!?
I just mentioned a possible cause and that it is not our duty to investigate this since this doesn't lead anywhere.

You threatened me in another thread... I also said I am not responsible for what happens but the worst is that you have to reinstall SM.

You have a very strange attitude. I did not threaten you, I have warned you to stop this for a good reason, and I warned the others not to delete anything - or to do it carefully.

Nadeo didn't step in to help me. I haven't played ShootMania for 3 weeks because of your server/game issues. Diamonds process worked for me. I can actually play the freakin' game now with out these strange delta spikes. I have FRAPS videos of it happening before. You just end up restoring all the files, so quit freaking out.

We did this last night - and it worked like a charm - why? I have no idea. But it worked.
