Haven't found a topic regarding this 'issue', but it seems to happen to a lot of new people, so I thought it would be reasonable to open a topic about it.

So my procedure for building a community in my home country is the following:

1. I give a beta key to my friend
2. I tell him to play Elite because that's the competitive stuff
3. I wait 1-2 days
4. The guy comes back to me and tells me this game is totally empty, noone plays elite and I don't get what he's talking about.

Then I realise he installed elite exp instead of elite. Most likely, because people think that's the real elite (at a first glance).

To be honest, it already makes way less people playing elite that they have to add a new title (simply, because they don't understand they have to, I'm quite sure, 2-3x more people play would play elite / joust if they didn't have to add it). But since there's something that makes people think they already have the real elite added, while they don't (don't expect them to know what elite EXP is before even knowing what this game is), they won't join the elite community either for sure, and they will just leave the game instantly.

Not sure how to solve it. Maybe change the Elite EXP title name? Like, Elite Testing (nadeo), or something really, I mean REALLY misunderstandable. Or change its title image, so people don't get confused. You know, sometimes it's key important to be dumb-friendly, since you can't expect a new player to know everything about ManiaPlanet

The world of Maniaplanet and the menu systems are quite different compared to other shooter games, and don't forget, it's the home of a racing game, so newbie's feel they're in a labirinth. I think a good solution for this problem is some kind of guide. I mean this is a good way for anything, an article on a website in highlight, and you can always link that. It's the same way for example in-game jumps or moves for rookies, just this is for how the use the menu.

Something is pretty wrong already if someone needs a guide for a gaming interface. I mean, all these stuff would be solved if the titles were added already at start, or it was highlighted before adding so I don't start with the "Play Shootmania Storm" on the left and actually realise there's Elite for example.

In my post I meant a community problem, not a personal one. Elite and the other gametypes are losing tons of players due to the confusing start for a beginner, while it would take really no time to fix it.

You're completely right, but the current thinking of Nadeo isn't like yours. They say the titles are equal, so the user has the right to choose his favorite titles. However, this version is still beta, but I think the easiest way to implement a checkbox into the installation, with for example "Do you want to ad default/Nadeo's titles?".
This fully depends on Nadeo's decision, so we hope the bests. This is Nadeo's job.

Our job is to inform the community until Nadeo changes it.

You should be able to see ALL titles in the ManiaHome server browser - when you try and connect to a server with a title you have not loaded it just needs to prompt you to install a title. Honestly I'm not sure why you haven't already done this. Effectively half the community has been segregated due to not being able to see the servers and too casual to actually research what other titles you can install.

Remeber, the game is nor released yet.

Which as nothing to do with the interface being horrible, though they're working on it afaik so it should be all good.
