Hi, i think something would help many and many people to make their manialinks, that got discouraged by the xml code.
A graphic interface, an editor of manialink, not ADVANCED but just the basics, banner, menu, etc...
I don't really know if that's possible, but i just say it would be awesome. And sorry for not developping that much, as i am not a programmer, i don't know what's possible and what's not, so i just give the global idea.

That's a suggestion for all games, so I moved the topic to the maniaplanet section

This would be awesome. I am no programmer, but maybe it would be possible to design a simple editor with pre-designed pages, and make it possible to customise parts of each page with your own background, pictures, and links etc. The xml editor should also stay for those who have more knowledge, but this would allow many more people to create manialinks.

That's it.ionian wrote:but this would allow many more people to create manialinks.

I agree.
This sounds like a nice idea and would enable all players to have their own "homepage" within the maniaplanet.

Re: [Manialink] A Manialink's graphic interface editor
Thought i best add my +1 to this, i can make them in old and new (quad) forms, but to have it open to many and make life easier a tool like this made by those who know the best (nadeo) would be the icing on the cake.
So Manialinks will be included in all Maniagames ....Sounds interestingfarfa wrote:That's a suggestion for all games, so I moved the topic to the maniaplanet section

That does sound good. Would open up more possibilities between the 3 games, manialink wise.jamie_macdonald wrote:So Manialinks will be included in all Maniagames ....Sounds interestingfarfa wrote:That's a suggestion for all games, so I moved the topic to the maniaplanet section

I think this is something the community can do, Nadeo can do other things

Make a GUI for a manialink editor? Hmm...didn't know that was a community-based project. Thought it had to be more deeply rooted in the game code than that.

Re: [Manialink] A Manialink's graphic interface editor
Manialink pages are just xml or php files, how else can people make their own? And if they can make their own manually, it should be possible to make an (external) editor for it too. It's different if you want an ingame editor for some reason, unless the game allows read and write access to files of those types with maniascript or something.
And even without that it might be possible to make a manialink where you can do it, although your pages would have to be stored on the server where the manialink is when you're editing them.
