j'ai exactement le même souci, tout est plus foncé, que ce soit sur un serveur, en solo ou dans le menu de personnalisation des voitures.

skalamanga wrote:I never had this problem until the new beta 2 update. Basically the cars are too dark, offfline and online. The tracks are the same although not as noticeable but the cars are like blobs of blackness. It's like the contrast is completely down on the cars or something. It's really stupid looking and off putting. wth? :?

No other program or website has this issue on my PC. My display settings have not changed for anything else. Is there some way of fixing the display settings in ManiaPlanet?

The thumbnails are normal but the car is completely dark.

This is n screengrab of an online server. The car is completely dark.

Edit: I've just completed the update on my laptop and the dark car issue is the same. So how do I raise the contrast on the cars?

Strange thing, I don't have the issue with my Sony Vaio laptop with Ati Radeon HD6470M. Skins appear perhaps a bit darker in the skin preview before launching the painter, but e.g. on A01, the skin is as bright as it should be.

I added some more pics to the thread also and others have posted about the issue on my thread and their own. It's not a game bereaking bug but man it's very unusual and super annoying because maxing out my brightness and contrast does nothing. The car remains black as hell as you can see below.

Just to illustrate the problem further:

Here's a screengrab of TMUF. Which is fine

Here's a screengrab of Maniaplanet and it's worse driving online

Hello,
Could you post ManiaPlanet log file here (after having reproduce the issue in the game and exit), please ?
Could you post also link to the wrong car skins ?
Thanks
LuckyBoy

This happens randomly but it just started after the Beta 2 update, like some places of the official tracks makes the car way too dark

And if I move a little, it goes back to normal

Note that this is not the only place that make this happens

This looks like the lightmaps (or shadows, however you name it) are applied differently to the cars than to the track.
I just tried with track B06, and on most places, the car's skin is fading appropriate to the light on the track.

But at block 1-7-1 the skin totally disappears and a plain black car remains.

This also happens right after the start for a very short time.

However, this is not the case for the automatic replay at the opponents selection, and also not at the race end replay - neither at the automatic replaying, nor in the replay editor (I used the advanced here).

And I could'nt reproduce this with the actual editor, neither in morning nor in day mood, with fresh calculated shadows.
Attached is the log file of the B06 test session.

Thanks for the clear reproduction case TMarc,
I've made a fix for this bug case in the version pushed 2012/12/28.

Thanks

The initial bug report is another bug case:
it's link with the very_fast shading quality, I've fixed it but only for next version (not available yet).

Thanks
