This bug is still not fixed. When I tab out of maniaplanet or any game in progress I can't do anything on ym deskttop. Even after closing maniaplanet completely my start bar didn't react for a whole minute.

Confirmed. I'm having this issue too.

It only happens to me in ShootMania though. I had it happen 2 or 3 times since the Beta2 update. To be honest, I haven't really noticed it much prior to the recent update. Could it be that this bug has been reintroduced?

Usually the way I fix it is to CTRL+ALT+DEL and click the "start task manager" button a few times. And suddenly my computer has regained focus and I'm able to use the desktop again.

Of course, it still doesn't address the source of the bug, whatever that might be.

I had this problem since the first day of playing SM, and it's still there. Just for the record: I always play in fullscreen mode, and most of the time use "windows" button on the keyboard to get back to Windows.

I always play fullscreen, and then to get to desktop... I always go windowed first by hitting ALT+ENTER. Then I ALT+TAB to tab out to a different window.* If I had been on a server playing, this often results in me being unable to click on anything outside of ShootMania.

CTRL+SHIFT+ESC to pull up Task Manager didn't help. It pulled up Task Manager, but it didn't give me the ability to click on anything again. I just tried it.

* This is an old habit I developed from playing TMUF. The game would literally take 3 to 5 minutes to close, so I would just go windowed while it closed, that way I could continue doing other stuff while it was closing.

Yeah, it doesn't seem to help. I always hit ctrl+alt+del, and then press "cancel" (using Win7).

One thing to mention is that it does not freeze everytime. Sometimes I cna alt tab right to the desktop without problems but when it starts freezing once, it does it everytime. Could be caused by tabbing out at a specific point in time ( eg end of match) but im not sure.

This has happened to me since I have been playing the game (early beta) and continues to happen many times daily. I have changed sound cards and video cards since I began playing the game, and play with two monitors.

Temporary fix: Has worked for me and some others. Hit ctrl+ esc to open start menu, then hit esc to close it. You should now have full functionality. Hitting the windows key "should" do the same things, but for some reason it does not.

I've paid a little more attention to this lately. Right clicking anywhere in windows always brings back focus for me.
