Sorry about that.

When I first saw the trailer, I had to accept that presenting the games at their best is part of the job, because it is the way it is done, but I will not wait another second to tell you that the sound is a work done on top of the ingame pictures made with the Shoot HQ. It is like a 'music of engines' :/

The sound has been improved in the game, but not that much. It gives us motivation to improve it even more, but we are movitated by a lot of things to develop these days.

So, I quoted all that I can find about the great sound to try to I answer each one here.

Some people from the team here was not confortable with having this sound, and I was a little scary, but sometimes it is part of the selling. Maybe they should have used a music instead. I don't know. I think that was the goal:

at least, we are now part of this family

however, be sure the team is working on the games, not the trailers ;)

I don't find it right now, but Hylis also said that he will work on the engine sounds again. Please Hylis implent these amazing engine sounds, that would be so epic!

I agree... E3 vid engine sound >>> DHack engine sound. Seriously, the E3 vid engine sound is truly an organic lively sound, which is great for such an organic game. The DHack engine sound was just a boring hum that nearly put me to sleep. I hate to be that blunt, but that was how different they were, IMHO.

it sounded like the coast cars in my opinion, but I couldn't hear it well. The E3 sound was really so nice, the sound also fits to the environment, that sounded really like Canyon cars^^

regardless of the sound being weak after all these videos are not based on the final product, however you have to look at the fact that it no longer uses the rule of high mid and low any more...
as far as i can tell the transition base has changed to a more realistic setting or revs.... it sound to me that it works more on the strain of the engine as in real life and with that i am most happy and will look forward to making some really good engine mods
i do question the ability to analogue the throttle though.... if we look at the likes if TDU if you cruse at half throttle you get the engine sound, however if posh the throttle to full you get a more intense sound along with turbo whistle
and where the care increases or lessens the road contact the engine will wobble
If this can be done with TM2 then it would make for better effect and mods, i do believe that in the TM2 trailers you can hear the engine wobble too but then i cant be 100% sure that is what i am hearing though i like to think it is
Going o with more car sounds i am also quite impressed with the trie friction sounds (skidding) and also other impact sound sine the come across as being 10x more realistic then in previous versions of TM
Granted this is not a simulation but an arcade however it all adds up the the authentication of the racing experience and in an unrealised way enhances the skill level of play as it does play on the human seances

i thought excactely the same. on the one hand i would appreciate great motorsounds etc. but on the other i don't really care about it anymore. i hated the boring sound since tmn and while writing these first senctences of this post, i recognized that i simply turned the sound off some years ago. to make it short:

i would love some cool engine-basses but if there wont be any i will play TM² in my personal oldschool-mute-mode again.

Well, while I would like the realistic motor sounds heard in the trailer, 1) I realized instantly that they were dubbed in, and 2) know that it would take a lot of recoding to make those kinds of engines work with TM2. I mean, I'm sure I'm telling you stuff you already know, but with those kinds of motors, you have to code three types of engine sound (as per TM's code). A low, a middle, and a high sound, and then be able to modulate between the three...and I just think that as it stands now--it's a little late in the game for such a change. :-? Maybe it's just me...but I've never been outright put off by TM's engine sounds...sure, they don't sound like NASCAR, but then, this isn't. :-P

but in the gameplay videos you can hear the motor changing gears and making different sounds

well you might be right , but itis not confirmed that there will be low middle and high sound as in tm1. it culd be also seperated to the gears (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,r gear

Well if you dislike the sound, I guess you could always add your own sound? (That's probably going to be possible in Canyon as well I guess ^^)
