[B2.1] Mediatracker Screenshot issue

Hi,

When I try to shoot a screenshot in 3840x2160 (4K), the textures somehow go to the lowest quality. This are two shots; I first shot with Full HD, then I tried it with 4K. After Shooting with 4K, the textures remain on low quality.

1920 x 1080 (Works fine)
4K (Switches to low textures; you can clearly see the missing details on the road and on the car)
The settings

It worked fine before. Please fix that!

I have posted this here also, but i did not find it again... maybe it was in Beta1.x (a long time ago)? Hmmm... strange. And i dunno if this was fixed already.

Anyway i have something similar on making a screenshot, there was used different Mipmaps:

Interesting finding. :thumbsup:

Look at the rear lights of the car in the 4k shot, they are sharp and detailed (not only the model , also the red dots that emit lights).

Did you try the same with a official skin?

It seems to be the diffuse.dds and the other textures only, TMarc.

Otherwise, I don't know why this happens. Works fine with all other formats. I shot several 4K screens in the past. Now it seems to disfunction. :?

Did you always do the comparison HD / Ultra HD shootings like this in the past?

It could indeed be the mipmaps, but it is still strange.
If you look at the two pictures and zoom in the Ultra HD until it is displayed at 1:1 pixels, the car looks to be 2x nearer to the camera.
Or the other way, if you zoom in the HD image until it has the size of the Ultra HD image, the skin textures are also losing quality, but not as much as the original Ultra HD shoot :oops:

Yes, in case of in-game driving the different Mipmaps makes sense, but on making images not. In MT on making Images or Videos it should use the best quality Mipmap there is available in the Skin.

For the videos, it should be selectable as option to use always HQ mipmaps, since this applies as well for any object or block on the track, and this would considerably increase the video images processing and therefore also the rendering time.

For a still image everything should be HQ.

But I fear the video settings are to global (launcher video settings, video card driver settings) and cannot be changed this much in game.

At least you have a good idea, and Nadeo shall do the best with it :thumbsup:
