New player advice

Hey all,
I just started playing shootmania a few days ago and absolutely love it. I would say that I'm progressing really fast. The one thing I can't seem to get down is jumping and jumping off walls. I'm sure in due time I will figure it out.

I'm coming here to ask for advice from the more veteran players like jumping, crosshairs, what to work on, advice on each game mode (more specifically elite/joust).

I have a good history in gaming and have no doubts I can get pretty good on a competitive level.

Thanks for the help!

Hello there!

I don't think anybody can just provide you with advices on such general topics; I think you need to specify a little bit what you want to know. As of the beginning I always recommend people to watch some videos and recordings on YouTube on how to play, how competitive players do stuff etc.

As of the game mode, I personally recommend Elite, which is the only mode I play, it's the competitive 3v3 mode. If you'd like to see how it looks like, check out movies such as these:

What are good NA leagues/ladders to sign up for?
&
Where could I find info on recruitment or starting a team? I'm already apart of a good gaming organization and would like to start a team within it.

I recommend these little movement tutorials:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGXRfqW3aSc
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LAjY2dN-2RI (this one is not quite useful now that the walljump was modified for B3, but still, worth watching)

There are many great match recordings available on this channel. Search for matches featuring teams like Dignitas, Fnatic, colwn, PyroGEN, 4 Kings, Millenium.

Here you can find recordings of some top tier Joust matches.
