Open-source version of TrackMania

Post by MatheusKS »

Hello!

I was searching some games for Linux (I use Linux Mint, besides Windows 7).
Then, I find this: http://maniadrive.raydium.org/
It's similar to the TrackMania (but TrackMania is better, so much better...).

Does anyone like it? I do not. I prefer TrackMania!
CPU: Ryzen 7 2600; Video: GeForce 1070; RAM: 16GB; also known as The Lil' Electricity Bill Booster. In-game as <MATKS95>

This is what happens when you put Trackmania on a Genesis, but with better Graphics then a Genesis. Did the creator even know about Trackmania? It even has the Mania part in it! (Don't forget the name "Rally" as well!) Oh well, could be a confidence. Nice game anyhoof. Pretty nice for a Fangame, at least.

quote from "about" page:
ManiaDrive is a free clone of Trackmania, the great game from Nadéo studio, and is an arcade car game on acrobatic tracks, with a quick and nervous gameplay (tracks almost never exceed one minute), and features a network mode, as the original.

from the video, seems like the trackeditor is few times more powerful than TM one, and still easy to use...

Easy to use, the TM track/map editors always have been, luckily.

Look at this railorad editor, that also has terraforming and nearly free placement: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zS7w7hvHl_k
I remember MS Train Simulator editor, it was so complex that one needed a 3D modeller traning before being capable to use it, and also good imagination.
Just place a few rails was never enough to have a good map there.
