I've seen many good ideas scattered around the forums and I thought it would be nice to put all these ideas in one place so...
What new Environment would you like to see in TM²?
We have Canyon, Stadium, Valley and now Lagoon, so what would be good or bad in the future and why?

I will try and keep this list up to date with new ideas:

SUGGESTED ENVIRONMENTS:
F1/GT: ............. Blacktop Tracks with no edge barriers, smooth hills, sand traps, inflatables, stands, tire walls.
JUNGLE: ............ Lot's of trees/vegetation, ruins, stone & wood bridges, mud, creeks, creek beds, vines.
SPACE/MOON: ...... Low gravity on an alien world, long hang times, weird vegetations, glass tunnels & domes.
FUTURE CITY: ...... Metallic and glass roads, tunnels and building styles, Magnetic tracks sections.
MOTORCYCLE: ..... Combined Superbike with offroad bike paved and dirt.
SWAMP: ............. High Speed Boats / Hovercrafts, Trees, Glades, Dirt roads, Creek beds, Tall grass.
OFFROAD: .......... Monster Trucks and lots of mud dirt and things to climb, Large rocks to "Crawl" on.
DIRT ARENA: ...... Trophy Trucks / Buggies. Indoor Moto-X style with whoops, jumps, Berms, Bridges, Hay bails.
DUNES: ............. Sand, water, Palm trees, Oasis ponds, Buggies/Bikes/Quads/Trucks.
MICRO/TOY: ....... Miniature/Toy or RC cars, Toys, Candies, Tools, Household items, Sand box.
SNOW/ICE: ........ Rally Car or Truck. Hard packed snow roads, Soft snow, Banked turns, Ice & Frozen lakes.
GO KART: ......... Medium to low speed, high grip tracks. Smooth hills, turns, bridges, tunnels, inflatables.
SAVANNA: ......... Narrow red dirt roads, little asphalt, some trees, rivers and mud sections.
SHORE: . ......... Jeep or Buggy style vehicle. Dirt, Sand, Water split env with coastal decorations and roads.
CITY: .............. High speed Bike/Sport Car. Lot's of scalable buildings, neons, wide streets & narrow alleys.
:pil

I'd personally love to see a F1/GT env. with smooth Blacktop Tracks with no guard rails/arco barriers, on grass grounds, sand traps, pit areas, tire barriers, inflatables, tunnels, grand stands etc.

Space env. with lower gravity for long hang time jumps and weird vegetations. And glass tunnels and domes
Futuristic City env. with metallic and glass road and building styles.
Motorcycle env. maybe with paved and dirt.
Off Road env. with Monster Trucks and lots of mud dirt and things to climb.

Water env. with High Speed Boats.
Hovercraft env. with... well... Hovercrafts.

Combine these two into swamp boats so there are more types of terrain to use.

I'd personally love to see a F1/GT env. with smooth Blacktop Tracks with no guard rails/arco barriers, on grass grounds, sand traps, pit areas, tire barriers, inflatables, tunnels, grand stands etc.
:1010

I'd also like to see some kind of jungle/forrest envi with wooden bridges, mud, creeks. Trees you can drive through or drive over the branches etc.

Excellent reply.
Jungle would be awesome!
Swamp / Water combined with Hovercraft is a cool idea too.

Hackie:
What do you mean? TM² Canyon is Official. It was released in 2011.

Since we're at it,

If the jungle envi is made well with a lot of variations in blocks and terrain, it would fit dirtbikes, cars, monstertrucks ánd powerswampcrafts all together.
:pop:

To be honest, I don't care about the visuals of the new environment at all as long as they are not ugly. If it is a desert, a snowy landscape or even in the jungle, will not matter.

What is important though, the deepness of the gameplay. I want a deep gameplay, which offers a lot of tricks and possibilities to gain skill. The longer it takes to master an environment, the better. It would be awesome to still be able to improve your skill noticeably after 2 years of racing in that one environment. (Which is imo possible in the United envis, especially Rally and Island I'd say ;) )
The learning-curve of one environment should start flat to create an appealing start for newbies, but even more important: It mustn't just stop at a specific point! One should always be able to find space for improvements, even after years

Besides that a jungle theme would be quite cool, as we haven't seen something like that before ;)

Once I saw a report about sand dune races in Oregon.
They had various kind of vehicles, mostly quads, buggies, bikes, but also a truck.

Or if you followed the Paris-Dakar rallyes, this could be a interesting environment: real desert, with dunes, oasis, dromedars etc.

I'd like to see something really really weird and fun in the future. Like candyland or rainbowroads like you know them from Mario Kart. :D

A Jungle env. would be really cool but likely heavy on the graphics cards if not done carefully. Jungle with some Mayan ruins and old stone bridges with hanging vines and stuff would look cool.

I agree in part with haenry in that the most important aspect of any environment is game play but, aesthetics is important too. Ugly cheesy blocks can distract a bit from game play. Those new trees in Canyon are cool to drive through and look good in replays and videos.

TMarc: I've always wanted to see a Sand Dune env. I've raced on dunes before and been to the Oregon Dunes in the U.S. Many types of vehicles can race on Sand Dunes and they are lots of fun. I've raced Quads, Bikes and even Go Karts on Dunes (Real, not in games) and it's a blast!

Sirc: A weird environment would be cool. They could not only do some weird and colorful blocks but they could also throw out some of the usual rules and toss in some things like warp tunnels that have an entrance block that warps you directly to and exit block or maybe a block with a giant spring that launches you into the air. I mean if the env. is dedicated to just weird stuff, why not?
