Valley: Brakesliding

So far i love this game, but Im afraid that the current brakeslide system will force trackers to do mostly FS maps.
I made lots of experimentation what corner combos are good to brakeslide. In most medium and small corners you lose too much speed too easily, it makes the driving after sliding feel very loose and cuts down the intensity feel, like the tightness of the map Also its very unforgiving for little mistakes, which might be just a fraction of a second tap with arrow button at wrong time.

There should be ways for trackers to bring the speed down at various points in track, you cant build up the speed forever, there has to be come downs, otherwise it will be FS. Brake is good for come downs, but it seems to cut down the speed very easily and make you lose too much speed for a small error.

Its awesome game, i love it so far, but what there are left if you dont want to do FS or gas bumper? Iive found couple good brakeslide ideas that keeps the speed, but the sliding right now feels to slow down too much iif you have to turn 90 degree turns.

PS. It seems that the engine sound going too down after braking adds to the psychology that the car has slowed down alot. Sometimes it dont seem to slow down that much as it sounds.

-Edit: Talking about Valley

I've played lots of tracks where you need to release the gas, not slide. That's the way to drive and it works well on tech style maps. Not all Trackmania games are about sliding, in fact, the majority require straight-line braking or releasing gas to drive properly.

You can have great passages that flow well with releasing gas. Maybe it will take a bit of getting used to, but when you nail a good line with just the right amount of lifting it can feel really great.

Stadium and Canyon already have sliding, so Valley doesn't need it. The diversity of environments and cars is what makes Trackmania!

You're talking of Valley? Please change the title, as there are now three games with different styles on purpose.

If you brake and don't turn the wheel you don't slow as much. If you brake and turn at the same time you slow down a lot. So, to avoid loosing too much speed, brake while approaching a turn, then let off the brake and turn. In a real car it would be the other way around.

Tmarc, yes sorry i changed the topic

yes i agree with you guys there are some tricks for sliding, but they feel somehow sketchy, like its not the way you should do it, but you have to do it that way because there are no other ways to do it. I Also like alot the gas bumping way to drive corners, it feels great to drive too.

Gas bumping and the trickery thing with brake are nice ways to drive, but wouldnt it be great, honestly, if you could use brake better. Not like in previous environments, but just simply in better way.
