I just bought SM and i have very high ping on all euro servers (around 5000). Maybe SM requires very good connection? I have only shity adsl 1MB. I dont had problem any game. I play QL, cs:go, doom etc. Is there some choice how solve this problem? Thx in advance.

5000ping isnt rly normal.
Are you from Europe urself btw?

1Mbit = 125kbp/s Buy an upgrade? I think it should be "enough" as long as ur connection is stable.

we saw someone fix this issue by switching from ipv6 to ipv4, we will soon look at this bug

maybe that's your case, and if it is, please advise here after, it could be useful to know

I have the same problem, my connection is by far not the fastest but it is enough to play online games (usually)
but i cant play Stormania, well lets say i can play it sometimes.
I use ipv4 btw

When i play Stormania, i noticed that i have very high networt traffic and that the stormania client downloads stuff
at over 100kb\s while playing, that just completly destroys my ping. I played today at the "beginner" servers and had like 20kb\s still more then normaly when playing other online games but it was kinda ok, but then all of a sudden from one round to the other, it goes up to +100kb\s again and my ping goes nuts.

I guess OP got the same problem with that strange traffic, at least for me its strange because i never have that while
playing other online games.

if it tells you that it goes TCP, then it will not work

but if not, maybe you can try to lower the network bandwith you define in the launcher (the game can not guess what is your network, so we send/receive datas accordingly to your declaration, and if you declare too much, then packets get loss and ping increase)

i think i fixed it

i changed the network option of the ManiaPlanet client to "56k Modem"
now i have a traffic of mostly 5-6kb\s and can play it

i suck but i have alot of fun !

Yep change to 56k also solved my problem. I ping around 60 to France now which is ok. Many thanks for help. I am from Czech Republic btw.

I think then problem may be in game server.You can try playing another online game.If the same problem occurs.Reset the Modem ....Un plug the connections,then plugin.You can check the ping using the methods below before playing the game and while playing the game...sure you can find is the problem in connection or in the website.You can check the Ping of the Internet Connection easily...To check Local LAN Connection Ping by using the Following method
GO to start->run->cmd->Ping ip-address
or you need to check Ping for website from your computer means you can reach here Whoisxy.com and do the Ping test for yahoo,Google etc...
