Poor sales - was it enough?

So I've been reading about trackmania 2. On most forums that aren't this one, it seems that the overwhelming impression is that the game sells poorly and has a limited userbase (lots of people think Canyon is dead, but that could just be the novelty of Valley right now).

So I'm interested to know how much these games cost to make vs how much return Nadeo got through sales. I just want to make sure that, given the circumstances, there was still enough interest for Nadeo to keep supporting such a niche community.

I imagine it would be, but I'd like to hear it from someone

Actually the TM community is composed of three kind of people:
-people who drive: online, for the solo campaign, for competition
-creative players: trackbuilders, title creators, skin 2D/Model3D creators, maniascripters, server controller and server manager coders,...
-organisers: of event, newsers...
So online players are a part of this big community and for sure there is enough interest for Nadeo to keep supporting such a so great community ^_^

I put the reply here since it is more about Maniaplanet as a whole and that it can be of interest of diverse players
