your best moments in FPS, RPG and racing games

Hi all :)

This is not a topic for suggestions. We invite you to share your best gaming experiences ever on FPS, racing and RPG games referring to this topic. Try to only write one souvenir by games style.

EDIT Hylis:
it could be gaming in general
Focus on gaming experience more than games. If you have good memory in one game in particular, I more interested about reading what was really happening than knowing what game it is about.

Lol, you are a minute quicker than me:

Just that, where nobody can tell you that you are wrong, because a good memory IS a good memory.

Then, I will read it and try to put the strengths behind those memories in our games. I even think that good memories with vehicles does not necessarily have to be recreated with vehicles. It could mean physic movements, exclusive advantage but also disadvantage or others things.

My best Moments in...

FPS: Well I think those moments where you have a run are the best ones. Just like in CSS, you as an average player have got an unbelievable run. "Killing Spree", "Firstblood" and the awsome "holy shit"(sounds or textform), these are things which pushes me as an average player and make me smile. Also the Chance to have Epic wins such as scoring a teamwin 00:50 (both fractions start with 50:50 tickets) or the very close ones (00:01)are the best fights. The other thing which makes me like an FPS is the possibility to help other players by giving him health, shield or special abillities or just the perfect driving in a vehicle, when my teammate and me are storming the foes base. I also enjoy FPS which are beyond realism, where you can do the high jumps, getting invisible or something else.
For example: I onced managed in Battlefield Heroes to make a rocketjump (shooting on the ground with a bazooka to pump you 10-15 meters upwards). While in the air I throw an explosisive Keg into the foes base just to see what happens.
The result: 2 kills and a total damage of 158, although I haven't seen my enemy. Well after that I got sniped down by another enemy, but it was very funny that my lucky keg killed two enemies. :D

RPG: My RPG-expirience isn't that high. But on RPG Games I am one of the persons who make as much action as possible. If a city has about 200 NPC, I take the chance and ask everyone of them and sometimes you get a nice conversation about the plot or an easteregg (like in the old Zelda - Links awakening, when you throw miracle powder on a Buzz Blob and you asked him and he suddenly says crap like: (Never without condom!);(Do you have any sorrows, hardships or problems?)(STOP THE WAR! GIVE PEACE A CHANCE!!);(Give me your juice, I'll give you mine...), and that on a serious storyline :D .
Another awsome expirience i had was on FF IX, when I managed to win against the last boss only with one partymember (he had 1 hp left and 24 mp) just by luck, because the boss just made attacks which were immune against him :D .

Racing: I am not the highscore hunter. I am already satisfied when I manage to drive an average run. The biggest moments here where the wtf-moment when I made a double backflip 360 and managed to reach the ground nearly perfectly. Another cool expirience I had were the good old mariokart-times where you aim was to destroy the ballons of the enemy in order to win the game. I spent days and weeks playing the battlemode against friends and the fun never got away. You always had to be careful for that damn bananas and green turtleshields But then *blomp*, something is hitting you and you think *What the heck was that - laughing* and you take the look around your friends and see the player beside you who is laughing out loudly - and you are laughing with him :).

Well, I wrote a bit like a story, but I think you can see my funny expiriences while gaming :)

FPS:
I don't have much experience here, but of the games I've liked, it's been ones where you can just jump straight into the action and have some fun. Games like Goldeneye on the N64 and Unreal Tournament were ones I enjoyed.

RPG:
I absolutely adored playing FFX. The story was so amazing that I played 90 hours of FFX-2 just to see the end video. This is the only game that has ever had me close to tears, that's how much of an attachment I had to the characters.

Racing:
Trackmania is where I've had my best racing experiences. Just the thrill of close racing in league matches is an unbeatable feeling for me in computer games.

Racing: ET Trackmania matches where you get a map at 6-6 with one run to decide the point. the pressure and tension are unreal, luckily we have won most of the 6-6 I've played in!

FPS: Simple shoot 'em ups. I don't have any skill so I like big guns and fast action!

RPG: Single player games like FFX, what a wonderful game that was! Loved it as much as Bramble.

FPS: my best moments in fps-games will probably lie back during the days of wolfenstein: enemy territory, a game where it was mostly about simplicity as well. just a couple of maps, a clear goal, and very equal classes. it was really easy to join in battle, and even teamwork was slightly possible on the most unprofessional servers. i guess that its main problem was, after a long time, that the six maps started to bore me, but obviously, such a thing wouldn't be a problem in SM. ^^' i think that since the different classes are equal to each other, and not have huge unfair advantages, and it has an arcade touch (thus not only one shot kills), made it popular. oh, and the perfectly balanced maps as well, even though some were terrible to play with 64 players. enemy territory is for me still the example of an awesome FPS game.

RPG: i've played a couple of rpg-games during my gaming career (final fantasy x-2 and shadow hearts covenant for example), but for some reason, i never had the motivation to fully finish the game, and explore everything. i always got stucked quite fast, and i reckon that it's mostly because of the lack of multiplayer possibilities. for me, singleplayer is always boring, how good the game might be. multiplayer and being able to compare your results and battle others is what gaming made interesting for me. only world of warcraft was a great rpg to me. i really enjoyed playing it during a couple of months. but due to the fact that after level 35/40 it is practically impossible to play less than two hours in a row, and that in general people were everything but kind there, i stopped.

RACING: hmm if i remember well, the racing games where i've spent most time on are besides trackmania (during the past 4/5 years), are the need for speed series (up until hot pursuit 2, after it only became worse and worse - had loads of fun with NFS2-SE, NFS4-RC, NFS5-PC and NFS-HP2 and their arcade-touches). nevertheless trackmania beats all of them with easy. just because it's way more technical (the fact that either you have to try to not slide, or you have to try to slide), that it's equal for everyone (no collisions) and thus very well suited for e-sports, record fights and online competition in general, and that it's all about the multiplayer instead of singleplayer.

oh, and i've had loads of fun with worms:armageddon as well, but i guess that it isn't really of any interest for you...

FPS: Games that don't take themselves too seriously. It causes more funny moments in my experience if you have interesting and unrealistic weapons and physics that are made more to be fun than to be real. As usual I'll mention TF2 of course, which was better before they added so many different weapons. Gameplay with teams and objectives always seems more fun to me because there's a goal, it's not as chaotic, and there's teamwork required. More interesting than a simple free for all deathmatch. That's also why I've always liked the original Battlefield, even though the weapons and movement aren't as fun, there are still many ways to play with the different classes and vehicles and many roles to fill to help the team.

RPG: Co-op play usually seems to be the most fun for me here, small groups of players against the world of monsters. Even if you play with random people, you should still be able to work together because it's clear what everyone's role is when there are different types/classes of characters in the game. Maybe even without being officially in a group! While character progression is nice, if grinding is required to become stronger that quickly kills the fun for me. Guild Wars was a game that did this right imo. PvP can be fun too but that's really really hard to do right apparently, not many games managed it.

Racing: I dunno, you already seem to know how to do that :D
Apart from TM, other racing games I've liked: Stunts (track editing!), Test Drive Unlimited (open world), Mercedes Benz World Racing (also open worlds, and simulation/arcade setting), Hoverrace (primitive track editing, unique physics with tricks), NFS 2 SE (nostalgia, supercars, great tracks) and the other ones up to NFS 6 (police chases :D) with NFS Porsche as the favourite (great career mode). Also some old destruction derby type games which were fun but didn't have much to do with racing. I played others but these came to mind first :D

And it's always hilarious when you kill a soldier with his own rocket
I enjoyed nearly everything in TF2, the gameplay, the graphics, the humor, etc.
But another thing i enjoyed in FPS is Vehicle-CTF in UT3. You get a huge tank and sit in there with 4 other players blowing up everything that moves :P

RPG: I love coop, especially with friends. Too bad that you have to buy a game multiple times to play coop :(
I also love it when npcs react to the players behaviour, like when you're sneaking in the middle of the steet in bright sunlight ("Did you lost something?" ). Those moments always make me laugh.

Racing: I don't play much racinggames except TM, just some Burnout, Flatout and NFS. Oh, and Midtown Madness 2 with friends in LAN, that was always fun.

this relates to all:

100% user control..... not limited to/stipulated by the creator & publisher

My example relates to MW2

I/we dont want to be told a limit of how many player to each server.....i/we want to host each and every server, not you
100% user defined configuration I.e cheats on/off - Killcam on/off----- i think you see the point

these kind of features are the best moment of any good game in my opinion

FPS: I don#t play it often, I know CS, UT an SeriousSam. I just hope that ther are unreal weapons like on SeriousSam.It might be funny :P
RPG: Just same as Speeed: I like to play in coop modus^^ I played Sacred 1 and 2, Oblivion, DungeonSiege 1 and 2, Dungeon Lords. Sacred was realy funny to play in coop(campange) Same is on DS. There is the view from above, but I prefer the views from behind, like in D-Lords and Oblivion. Its funny to find new items and skill your charakter, I think :)
Racing: I played DTM and NFS instead of TM. But TM is the game I played most^^ I like the community and the possibilities all over TM:) For NFS there is the same like the RPG games, you can skill your car :P I like DTM becaus of it's realism and the many different cars. And of course I drive with Speeed MidtownMadness2 as fun game^^ the cars repair himself after destoing^^
