This issue already has been addressed.
Why do you think a fence is laser or bullet proof btw. :?
It could only block a electric discharge provided the fence is metallic.
And in worst case bullet or laser could be a lucky shot through the grid of the fence ;)

They fixed this in an update a couple of months ago, I have NO clue why it managed to creep back in!

So basically you're saying that it isn't an 'issue' its just 'luck' if you are able to shoot through the fence?
Seems a well balanced game.

so what you are saying is, its a issue being addressed yet not an issue?

why do I think a fence is bulletproof? I don't know, maybe the fact that EVERYONE sits behind fences and never get hit.

From pure technical and logical point of view, fences should only prevent the player from entering or exiting some areas.

The issue of hit through fence was already discussed e.g. here http://forum.maniaplanet.com/viewtopic. ... 10#p156664, but I see now that this question was not completely finished and never rised again.

After a searched more extensively in the forum, I found this quote from Hylis in the French part, posted already in March this year:
Hylis wrote:actually the game is the game, as long as it is balanced.
The real physics are there to simplify the perception, while allowing a much larger complexity.
And this could indeed manifest by the fact that the shield which protects the StormMan is energetic, and reaches through a fence, since it is not a Faraday cage ^_^. But I have rather the opinion that it would be better for the learning and to increase the clarity of the action if the possibility to hit through the fence was removed.

The good way is relatively complicated to reach, therefore I don't promise anything, but it is easier for a player not to have to memorize or learn such particularities.

so basically its a problem/issue that cant be fixed and instead of just saying "we cant fix it", there's as a technically worded post to try and shut people up?

Solid fence 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jtHWnhSb ... e=youtu.be
Solid fence 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zp46CHXg ... e=youtu.be (I WAS RUNNING AND SHOOTING at the fence to move my animation forward, and still nothing)

what do you have!? Are you only upset because you thought the fence was safe? ;)
It is only a logical explanation of something that was intended to be more realistic, nothing else.

Hylis has the last word on it, that's all.
In case you don't know it, he is the boss here.
Actually he even doesn't know if this will be modified in the quote, and I did not find any other post of him with a change in mind.
You will have to wait for his return to have a update on this ;)

No one would really hide behind a fence, because you are visible there as well.

And next time please don't say "I was shot standing behind a window. But a window is a hard material, I can't break it with my fist"

So this ( http://youtu.be/3qrzW-GQF60?t=9m49s ) is still there?

TMarc, please stop trying to explain this obvious issue by the means of real life physics. Lasers are definitely not supposed to hit through fences in this game.
