Intersecting blocks, or custom positions/rotations?

Hello Trackmania Community,
I have started to get into the development of making tracks, and using some ideas and inspiration from other designers, I can seen them use things that don't appear to be available to me. I was wondering how they have done it?
For example, on curved roads, straight blocks have been placed through them (clearly intersecting, or clipping) creating an additional route, or obstacles, although trying to do this through the editor isn't allowed.
Additionally, I have seen custom positions or locations for the signs/advertisements around some tracks, and was wondering if this is custom blocks, or the same sign block with more precise movement/rotation controls?
For reference, I do use the Advanced editor, and I have searched at least 100 various terms to find out the information through Google, but it's returning vague results. Is there a location where one can download and use additional blocks, or items?
Thank you for reading, and I hope someone knows something about this.
