Hey I haven't played trackmania in 5(?) years. And have since then forgot much about it. When racing what are you working for? Points? Coppers? What are coppers btw?

First of all you race for fun. Then in multiplayer you race for ladderpoints. In solo campaign you race for solopoints and you earn coppers driving track medals. Copper is the ingame money used to buy ingame stuff such as laddered servers, tags, manialink stuff.

Thanks! one more thing...where can you buy them? and can you buy full cars or only paid members?

You can't use paying services as downloading creations from manialinks, sending ingame messages, having a ladder server, etc because you don't earn coppers which is the ingame currency. The only way to be able to spend coppers is to have a purchasing account.
