Hey Everyone!

I am very happy to announce our upcoming Ask A Dev live stream event! I (Johkr aka @JustinJKruger on twitter) will be moderating the event and will be asking questions to Edouard Beauchemin, Product Manager at Nadeo. We will cover everything from TrackMania, ShootMania, and will try to answer questions to the best of our ability.

We will be hosting this Friday, October 25th at 3PM ET / 8PM BST / 9PM CEST on our ShootManiaStorm Twitch.TV channel: http://www.twitch.tv/shootmaniastorm, come join us!

Please feel free to submit your questions either here or on Twitter!

We won't be able to answer ALL questions, but we will try to get to as many as possible. If this goes well, we will host more!

Thanks! :3

Hello.

So my question: "Are you going to support shootmania game and make sure it will be on the biggest LAN's with descent coverage etc. I remember its supposed to be great competitive game with big exposure. But its nearly to be out of any leagues and tournaments."

Thanks

Interesting event. I am curious how they are going to react to the quetions of the community :)

1: ''How are you going to deal with the issue in Elite, that you are mostly hiding/camping behind a hide-spot as a defender? Are you going to modify Elite so that it's more dynamic?''

Thanks for the possibility to directly ask the devs.

All ShootMania related:

1.) As you know, the NA scene is dying, and players are sparse. What are your plans to advertise/support the game in the short-term and long term future?

2.) Are there ever going to be improvements made to the map editor? If so, what specifically?

3.) It was decided by Nadeo to force Beta 3 movement/gameplay on Elite, allowing the new blocks and power grapples to function, as they did not in Beta 2. The switch to Beta 3 meant a nerf to movement and walljumps, and the majority of players did not want this. Is there ever going to be another update to the movement in the game, allowing the players to revert the great movement from Beta 2, while at the same time making the new blocks and power grapples function properly?

4.) Does Nadeo have any plans to re-design the User-Interface to a more friendly one, allowing access to all the game modes under one roof, or will they continue to use the sub-par title/station system?

5.) Will Nadeo ever shed more light on their implementation of an "anti-cheat" system?

6.) Will Siege mode ever be fixed?

I understand my questions come off being somewhat negative, but these are my concerns, and the concerns of many in the NA community. I truly believe this is a great game, and would like to see it succeed.

Hi,

I used to play this game competitively (coming from Counter Strike) but I left due to the fact that, the player levels were dwindling, especially on the public/casual scene.

I would love to come back, as SM Elite is one of the best games I have played, it's much better than Cod/BF/CS:GO imo, atleast competitively.

Anyway, my questions:

1) Will you be adding the mini-jump back in to Beta 3, and forcing the new settings? I think beta 3 has been out long enough for you to remove Beta 2 settings from the menu, but I also miss the mini-jump :(

2) Will you be going Free to Play to increase the casual playerbase? or do you have any other ideas to drastically increase the reach of this game?

3) Will there be another $100'000 event soon? and will you continue to try get SM picked up by leagues such as the ESL, ESWC and WCG (If they even still support PC games) etc?

4) I also completely hate the new maps that keep getting added to the low-skilled/level matchmaking system. Often this is the only place that has players on, but If I play there, I am forced to play the worst maps I have ever seen in my life. It is almost as if the person designing the maps has never played the game (No offence intended). Would you be considering taking on community members like id, wabbitface, kryW and others that have made successful competitive maps, and working with them to create better maps for the future? Most of the pros should be able to tell, after a few minutes glance, if a map is going to be a fun competitive and balance map (Ish).

I really hope this game get's huge as, CS:GO is a joke to me (I don't understand why anyone plays it, it's literally one of the worst shooters I've played) and my beloved 1.6 is dead :( Dota2 tries, but I'm much more of an FPS player, and I miss killing people.

Hello devs!

I remember a while ago there was mention of a "Moba" style game mode that you were working on, is this still in the works? Any chance of testing it out? Also, regarding the PS4 giveaway, is it ONLY eligible to those who try the demo? or also those who have the full game?
I am looking forward to new players joining and cannot wait to play competitively. I hope it gets the recognition it deserves, just want to thank you all for an awesome game :)

UNDEADMANBEARPIG, Thanks for your question. Regarding the PS4 giveaway, if you play on an already existing account then you are still entered into the giveaway.

Thank you for your reply! Good to know :).
I've also been wondering if there is any upcoming tournaments/conventions in Canada, and if no, can there be? I've never been to an actual one cause they never seem to be around here (Ontario/Quebec).

One more question, about Maniascript. I would love the chance to make my own gamemode and associate it with my own created map however it is a little difficult to learn. Would there be any chance in the future for a user-friendly Mode-Creator? Being able to choose:Health Bars, Teams, Weapons, Ammo, Regeneration, Jumping(gravity), Balls, Goals, and other variables.
Example : A small paintball-like map , where it is 4v4, everyone has one health bar, 15 rockets only that slowly regenerate and the team who wins 2 out of 3 rounds wins the match.

Hi! Since I am looking forward to this event like hell :3 I would like to know what codec or "technique" you guys use for exporting Replays to make Trailers of them. I am working on a Montage and just need to export it but H264 sucks and my other codecs won't even give me a proper output. :?

Love all your Games so far!

Cheers!

Hello (-:

The codec have to be used for the final render on the editing software that you are using. For example, I use Adobe Premiere and Xvid Codec mpeg 4...

When rendering replays, you have to render uncompressed so you have the highest quality.

Voila
