How is the game doing?

So how is the playerbase of canyon, valley and stadium? I heard that alot of the servers are most of the time empty, or have a small number of players on them. The demo servers don't have alot of players either. Is the playerbase really so low, compared to the older trackmania games? Just wanna make sure the game is not dead, so i don't waste my money on a mp-game thats has no playerbase. I really enjoy the new envierments, but if the servers are more or less dead, i will have to pass on this game.

If you're interested in player count, then see here: http://www.serverviewer.mania-server.ne ... statistics

Why are you wondering so much?
There are always a few servers with nice player count.
It is true that there are a lot of servers which are empty.
But many are clan servers, or servers with less good choice of maps and plugins.

However, it is difficult to judge from just a momentary snapshot.
You have to take the opportunity of the free demos and go and play.
Then if you find the game good, you can still decide to purchase it or not.
At least try to enjoy the game as much as possible and have fun :pil

But please do not decide only because "you've heard", because this could be very misleading.

I think that TM2 MP has got better than it was and believe there in an on-going crusade to fix the bugs. I find myself playing a lot more, even on Canyons, now as these problem bugs are slowly being ironed out. It's not perfect but definitely more playable and I believe that it will grow a lot more providing TM2 gets the support and not forgotten in favour of SM and QM.
I have TM2 Canyons and Stadium and am getting a good feel of Valley thanks to that demo so I will most likely buy it too. There are a lot of servers empty but hopefully these will fill up a lot more after Christmas with people having got these bargain games as gifts (would be nice to see one or two demo servers left open after the 14/12/13 to attract more people). :pil

*Edit: i make it shorter :)

Sometimes it feels these 'theres no players', 'is game dead' created topics are more made to provoke and wanting to cause harm to nadeo than actually asking it in all honesty. Like some outsiders wants to sabotage the game, or some EA is releasing new car game and they need more playerbase or something ;D

My question was a honest question. I just wanted to make sure i don't waste my money on something that's not worth it, i just love to check things before i buy them. I am trackmania player since eswc tm, and i own united since it was released so no, i don't have anything against nadeo, i still think that TM is one of the best racing games.

But thanks to TMarc, who gave me the link to the serverviewer site, i can see that the player base is low, compared to united when it was new. For example valley has max 100 players online, and is the latest title, that has been out for months. So i guess the rumors that i heard from other players are indeed just not rumors .

But in the end i will probally still buy the package, since i enjoy valley and canyon  .

Yeah, but to be honest I think it's better now. As I said in another "Where is everyone?" topic, which would you rather have, Thousands of people who don't care for the game play it once and then forget about it, or Just 100 who are all really passionate about it and contribute loads of maps, skins, tournaments, etc? Personally I choose the latter, because I think it's the attitude that counts, not just sheer numbers.

That's right, but Nadeo certainly does not provide a game for just a bunch of crazy idealists, because this wouldn't pay even one single game developer. ;)
