Ok, so I had this problem since launch, and I quit playing because it got worse with every update. I want to play again but it is impossible.
No matter what graphical setting I'm using, no matter how powerful my PC is, I get terrible FPS and mouse lag.
My PC:
3930K @ 4.25
16GB @ 1600
6870 CFX
(HDD)

My PC has no problem with any other game, but this one. And I don't get these problems in other Nadeo titles such as TM2 Sta or Can.
Any help? Thanks in advance

To which servers did you connect?
If they are far away, it is normal that you have lags.
Please use the builtin performance monitor (key \) to display fps rate and ping in the left corner of the screen.

You might also restrict the network bandwith usage of the game.
Open the Launcher configuration, and select a much lower network speed, e.g. DSL 2MB, or custom.
Indicate less than half of the bandwith your internet provider can give (for both upload and download).

Top FPS: 40
Avg: 30-35
Ping on French servers: 80+- (which is normal)
German servers: 70+-
By mouse lag I mean that it's not responsive, if I move the mouse a tad to the left, it takes it some time to do so in game.
Internet connection (15MB/s) is not a problem in any other game

EDIT: Lag is not my problem, the FPS and mouse responsiveness are.

Did you already try disabling crossfire before playing ShootMania?

The driver I currently have doesn't allow me to. However, I un-marked the box that says "Enable AMD CFX for applications that don't have a CFX profile". (Having it marked doesn't make a difference either)

Although, when I turned the CFX off with other drivers (a few months ago) it still didn't make any difference

Try to put syncro CPU/GPU to 1 frame, the mouse will be more responsive but maybe FPS will decrease so try to adapt your graphic settings. Also put off the bloom to increase FPS


Try this and tell me if it solve your problem.

And since you said you have no issues with TM², which basically has the same video engine as SM,
I still presume it is the network activity that affects the game, since in SM there is a much tighter coupling of opponents actions compared to TM.

Therefore please considerably reduce the network bandwith usage of the game.

Mouse became less responsive, and FPS got to 25


@TMarc: I tried limiting the bandwidth to DSL 2 now, ping became inconsistent: usual 80 had small "hiccups" to 120

Ok, put it to 4MB then (use custom and configure values accordingly in the network settings tab: 256 upload and 3584 download)

Normally, mouse should be more responsive, it's my case if i do this.
Can you post a screen of your graphic settings in the launcher ?

And also compatibly settings
