Ongoing Development for 0.9.7 Realese
Prevision : Soon
So we had canceled 0.9.7 to make a stable realese but after some devlopment we decided that our next realese would be the 0.9.7. We have worked again very hard with reaby, there is a lot of small fixes not even worth mentioning some of those fixes are just placing elements and some are more important.
The 0.9.7 won't be a big game changer, it will be if all goes well the version we will present to a bigger audience, yes more server admins need to use the system. As much fun as it is to work on eXpansion to work on it for just a few server owners isn't our goal and isn't motivating. The number of servers using eXpansion has been dropping lately and we want to change this tendance.
I am saying this for my self, but if we can't get more players using the system I will probably stop developpping on it and just keep with maintenance so that is works until there is enought players using it.
In order to get those server admins we have started working on promoting expansion to people, hopefully we will be give you some more news soon.
Meanwhile everything that was planned to be done for the 1.0.0 will be done or is done for the 0.9.7.
So we have canceled the 0.9.7 of eXpansion because we think that expansion is nearly ready to go for a full releases

We are really happy with the progress and stability the project has gained. The update to the 0.9.6 has not been very smooth unfortunately
But the 0.9.6 was a big leap forward complexity wise and feature wise. We still have plenty of great ideas but we must stop for a while because those features aren't important for eXpansion they are features that will be awsome but that we can live without at the moment.
We want to go for a stable release, this will mean hopefully a release that won't need updating for months, In the meantime we will work on the next releases to implement those new ideas. This way server admins that doesn't want to experiment might decide to switch to our system, once installed they can just let it run.
We will continue on the nighty system which will allow the more adventurous of you to try out the latest features without needing to wait months for them to roll out.
Before all this, we will realese a fix for the 0.9.6, it is already in the git update we will also make a zip file once all the issues has been fixed. 1.0.0 will probably be the fix and some more stuff applied to the 0.9.6.
Will be done
- show notice to admins and the joining player that he is ignored
- tennismode (team gap) doesn't work anymore
- Added hook to change Mania exchange search map list buttons

- Chat emotes works when chat is disabled

- Live rankings shows only top 60

- PB Best works strange when spectating

- fix /adm get ignorelist

- Plugin management window has wrong permissions

- Adapt eXpansion interface to the new MP interface

- Adjust Top100 window width of elements

- Remove weblink from main project

- More code cleaning & better logs

- Wrong plugin order makes the system crash

- Information about netloss and ping

- Click on Nicknames in live rankings do spectate

So nearly there for the 0.9.5

we are on time so tomorrow we should update.
while waiting here is the brand new eXpansion configuration windows

. In here you can set up the plugins to load
the color of texts in chat, the dedicated config file path, and match settings path and so many more stuff. Some of them will require a eXpansion restart(can be done in game as well) but nearly all works immediately.
In the image below you can see the settings window as well as the Live Ranking widget for team mode. It updates live and tells you where other players are and makes a Team point estimatio so you know which team is winning.
Also some older images.
And the maps list window. Attention to the scrolling bar at the side that allows you to scroll throught your maps. Tested with over 700 maps
We have all the statistics you can wish for TrackMania, time played, time spent on server and many more
Well player statistics is a nice toy, it is important to keep track on the number of players you have on your server as well as on the cpu and memory usage. That is why eXpansion has unique statistic graphs to allow you to see those

So updated the post with all we did and the few things we still need to do for the 0.9.6.
It was suppose to be a small release of performance but finally there is also some new stuff in it

We hope to realese during the week, it will depend whatever or not we will be able to run enough tests on the dev version.

Some news about what is going on.
First of all sorry for taking so much time for the 0.9.6 realese. I will start by the good news first.
We have done much more then we had planned in the first place I have updated the first post with all the changes we did.
Tonight and Tomorrow morning I will test what was coded so that I am sure everything is fine, then there will be a new download.
But the new download won't be the 0.9.6 it will be a nighty realese. We have added a git update system which means you will be able to update as you like and switch versions as you wish. You will be able to use this for stable realeses as well. To do this we have 3 branches
- master : will have the latest stable realese
- nighty : What will become one day the master, it will have new features and bug fixes but have also new bugs
- dev : what we are working on right now. !! it might even not start

so this is the current plan, and hopefully if the nighty goes well we realese the 0.9.6 next week. meanwhile the nighty will get bug fixes during the week.
But eXpansion isn't all we do, so a bug in the nighty even fatal may take a few days to be fixed if we have other stuff to do. But you can always switch back to a stable realese so no worry

Good Morning hackie and everybody

this time i didn't fail making coffee and i'm having a full cup of it as i write, hehe
I haven't been so active lately due personal reasons, which is the main reason why there hasn't been an update yet.
I would like to remind that we do this for fun and for free as an opensource project, so the updates will come when they are ready and when we are ready... also i would like to remind there is room for experienced coders to join the effort. Why i said experienced... since the project is getting quite massive, so it might have quite steep learning curve at start
Anyway, Oliver has done very very good and great job with plugins pack meanwhile, so many thanks!
When finished, the 0.9.6 will be an epic release, with a really nice change log!

So you are thinking eXpansion is dull,
you are thinking developpement is pending,
you are thinking that things are getting boring,
so here as an image that should change your mind :
So the window already works, we still need to built a few things, I think that external plugins will also update in game now, hmm or not. Who codes this?
For that to work I need to do a detailed information window for plugins where you will be able to select a branch to update on. And change all the plugin configuration.
And meanwhile we still haven't fixed the small issue in the dedimania plugins in order to realese the 0.9.6
Edit : this isn't in the nighty yet, the admin permissions for this still needs to be coded, I will try and push it tot the nighty by the end of the weekend.
