Suggestions for CTF

Firstly: In CTF could we have the same reload speed for lasers as in Elite? After playing CTF I become agitated in Elite because I have to wait for the slower reload rhythm of Elite.
Possibly one could argue that CTF would lose players because CTF is not meant to be played in a slow pace. If so, then maybe adding a secondary laser weapon with the exact properties of Elite (including the 50% faster reload when making a hit) would solve the issue. Then players can chose to play fast-paced or Elite-style, of course build up ammo needs to be reset to zero after switching between lasers.
I don't need to win, I just need a fun game mode to play as a warm-up for Elite matches.
Secondly: Could the respawn time be made adjustable in-game? In the smaller maps it's not really beneficial to kill opponents since they will respawn in much better defensive positions.
Of course this is best solved by making maps where the respawn locations are farther away from the flag, but since many maps don't have that increasing respawn time is a nice workaround.
