Matchmaking can be very unbalanced

Hi,

I just wanted to share that MatchMaking can be very unbalanced. An example to demonstrate:

So on the screenshot nobody is allied so why is it so unbalanced?
I know that here in the screenshot its "okay". The rank >1000 is the unbalancing factor. But it happens a lot and I'll post screenshots when I have some better ones.

Like 3x TOP50 vs 3x rank 1000. ( No allies ) Those matches end with scores such as 9-1/ 9-2 and everyone is bored.

The devs should look into this. Especially with the upcoming demo ^^

There are multiple factors, like the waiting time of each players that change the algorithm.
(Maybe the echelon 7 players was waiting for 10 minutes to play, so he is matched with an higher priority than others echelon 8 player).

Indeed the current algorithm is far from being perfect and we will look into it.
(And no matchmaking system is perfect, I don't see anything but players complaining about the matchmaking in every game I play (especially thinking of League of Legends)

Didnt say it was perfect ^^
Grateful for the feedback
Happy you"ll look into it.

If the echelon 7 player was indeed waiting for a long time, he should have been matched against other players on the server (you can see there were 5 echelon 8), not the other way around.

Moreover, the match is 1 2 4 vs 3 5 6 though only 1 and 4 are allied. It should have been 1 4 6 vs 2 3 5 as the usual auto balance would have done. Btw, this is something that happens everytime: if 1 and 2 or 1 and 3 are allied, match will be 1 2 3 vs 4 5 6. More generally, it seems that if only 2 players are allied, no balance will occur at all. Considering you'll lose points even if you performed well, it's easy to see how frustrating it can be to chain unbalanced matches because of that flaw.

I was giving the wait time example as a random guess as I didn't saw the allies.

Indeed there are problems with allies and matchmaking and we are taking this seriously, especially for the demo, so the algorithm will be updated.

Perfect example of unbalanced.
The Waiting time cannot be a factor in this situation because the matchmaking servers were empty, then 2matches were finished and 12players ready'd up.
It's just not balancing properly and it's really important.

You just know when ur facing 'noobs' and as an instinct you just start to rush/bash them and you ruin their game. Even for the winning team it's not fun. It's boring.

Example 2: Same "balancing" ,differnent players

Thus your examples are confirming this:

Indeed, and as I said twice, the algorithm is being rewritten.

It will probably be updated next week. ( )

That doesn't mean we couldn't try to find the logic :P
