Maniaplanet wiki and general help

Hey!

I was looking through the maniaplanet wiki recently, but the wiki was, in my honest opinion not always very insightful or missed some information. What can we do about this?

- Some players released video tutorials. Include them by having a "video tutorial" category which also connects to the important wiki pages (camera tutorial -> mediatrackerwiki , etc.)
- Also, some of them have really detailed documentations in text+picture format. It would be great to collect all of those (atleast the links) and have them findable on the wiki page. If someone is looking for a skinning tutorial, show him the ingame method and give him links to the helpful maniapark tutorials so he can also choose the more advanced way to do his skins.
- On the map editor, action maker, mediatracker and more it would be great to have a COMPLETE list of keyboard shortcuts/functions. Put them in the wiki or even right into the game (help button).

I opened this thread mainly to gather many useful tutorials and give Nadeo an overlook.

Great idea, but don't forget that there is the new documentation now on GitHub... and there is an "usefull link" section too... http://maniaplanet.github.io/documentation

Oh yes yes yes! We neeeeed this! Ingame tooltips would be even better in my opinion

how can we tell which shortcuts are missing, when we might not know they even exist? ^^

Item Mode:

+ and - on numpad and arrow keys to rotate the item
/ on numpad to reset the object position
, on numpad to allign the height of the item in very small steps

Only those who know the shortcuts can tell that some are missing
E.g. Nadeo, users of the betas where such information might have been told, etc.

I remember that I've read of some shortcuts regarding items placement a while ago, but it's difficult to recall everything and also to find such kind information (try searching for e.g. '.' and you'll see) if you're not using it all the time.

Really? So they should replace F12 by Scroll lock to open the script editor.

oohh nice, that's a good start already

There is stuff missing:
"F4 : Items mode: allows to place additional items, as well as third-party items"

Press F4 twice to enable grid snap for items is missing in there
EDIT:
Another missing thing: up, down, left and right to rotate items around the other axis
One more: Alt+Enter to switch between windowed and fullscreen mode
Press ß on german keyboard (- on qwerty) to see the fps count and other additional info while driving
