in game script system preventing game play

So, got the new beta launcher last night, installed it, all went fine, loaded up, updated, tried to play... can't play due to the in game script system showing even after pressing esc to close it, I have to press esc key fast to get a menu to show and all I can do it go back to the main menu system, any help with this?
