Trackmania PS4, XBox One

I was wondering whether people would be interested in this.

A trackmania 2 complete package for consoles with level creation support would be amazing. This kind of thing has already been done in the similar game, Trials Fusion, which is a huge success - another ubisoft published game. I know trackmania has previously only come to Nintendo consoles, but hopefully this could change.

Throw in your support for the idea and hopefully someone at Nadeo or Ubisoft is listening.

I don't really see how going multi-platform would hinder PC progress. If anything, the increased coverage, interest and resulting revenue should push PC development along quicker.

If you just hate console gaming then ok, this thread isn't for you.

if they do everything more simply and remove lots of things maybe a Console version will come, but same features as on pc will not happen on current-gen consoles, so maybe in 10 years or more when next-gen arrives.

for best experience play on pc or wait 10 years.

Minimum specs for Trackmania 2 are well and truly below current gen consoles specs. Perhaps a little bit of streamlining would be necessary, but I don't think the game would need to be butchered to the point where we simply couldn't enjoy the trackmania experience on a console.

I'm looking at Trials Fusion as a template. Perhaps the PC server functionality would suffer, but ultimately this doesn't need to be an issue if servers were offered for rent ala battlefield 4, alongside official servers.

Trackmania's power lays in community created content.
On consoles it is quite difficult to offer the same possibilities for content creation, as cannot use external programs like blender to create 3D objects or photoediting software or even notepad to code plugins and scripts.
The limitations would be a lot bigger and thus the game a lot less fun.
Besides that Nadeo doesn't have the extra time to develop such games.

Btw there are Trackmania versions of United for Wii and Nintendo DS, which were developped by firebrand instead of Nadeo.

I didn't even realise that Trackmania was developed for wii and ds by a different dev, damn. Implementing the wild and awesome things we see in community tracks would be a stretch for consoles, but you know, I was dreamin' and being hopeful.

It's really is the greatest arcade racer ever made, I've been with the series forever, I even used to play Broderbund Stunts in dos (still do when I get in that nostalgic mood). Would just like to see the following it deserves, which i thought might come from a console release. 600,000 pc gamers is great, but at the times of day I go on I rarely see more than 20 people in a world server. I know it's not as popular here in Australia, and the reason why is probably the pc only format.

I think that they won't do it on the Next-Gen Konsoles. Think of TM DS it was buggy and glitchy.

Since Xbox is using Windows + DirectX engine, Nadeo games should also work there with not too much effort I think. :?

@haenry: you're right, about community driven developments, but then Nadeo should also add a basic 3D modeler as block and item editor right in the game for console users

You're forgetting the user-friendliness.
