Suggestions to improve Signs selection in the Editor

Hi, I try to make it short and hopefuly it can be coded for next mp-update
1. this is your map
2. this is how it sometimes looks when you want to select a sign
3. this is how it could look like, your mapviewpoint gets shrinked and you get a big wall with signs!
0.1 also like seen on image 1, it could be useful to see another colour on mouse hover a sign block

I like the idea.
I'd rather see the actual sign images than a list of names. Even pages of thumbnail images might be nice.
There are times when I click name after name to find what looks right. A favorites folder or page might be nice too.

I personnaly have an list of signs in a html document, and just copy paste the links every time I need one, because the interface is reall not designed to handle more then 20 signs efficiently. I don't know why it was never reworked, the interface haven't evolved since ever.
It definitively needs an overhaul to make it easy to find a sign and use it.

It might even be nice to be able to create your own sub-categories or grouped sub-menus Like:
Most Used - Directional - Advertising - Speed - Warnings - Decorative

Agreed. (Except for the rest of the text)
A simple list on the right would do the trick. The window is really restrictive and I've been running into the problem of not seeing the sign actually, while choosing it (e.g. 2x signright, which one is the right one?).

As demented suggested, a big grid with little miniatures would be the best solution. Windows does it for years already with photos:

I just want the ability to pick a paint value from an existing block.
Editor plugins are extremely limited, sadly this isn't possible too.

A lot of things have been improved on editor plugins for TM Turbo. It's possible to get and set a block skin from the script by example. So a plugin can display a list of skins pictures instead of only names.

Nope, it can't. You forgot in manialinks we can only use files in Media/ directory.
