if i buy a copy on the website, will i also get a steam copy or will it be possible to link it up to steam later on?

No steam as of yet, since Maniaplanet is going to be a "mini-Steam" of sorts anyhow. With 9 (hopefully 15) slated titles, they're going to all be linked under the Maniaplanet umbrella. However, you can still link them through the "add non-Steam game"

thanks - i hope they can provide steam integration also, at least their payment processing isn't broken.

I'd certainly like to see integration with Steam like before.

It's not planned to make ManiaPlanet on Steam for the moment.
