Upload per person

I can't find this anywhere, even asked some server owners and they all don't know. How much upload does each person need on a trackmania server? I'm assuming each one is relatively the same.
I hear it's 400kbps per person excluding plugins as well. I hope this isn't true.
Update: I put up a test server with no plugins and had em and someone in u.s.a. (or germany) connect. Did some benchmarks and upload spiked, but it wasn't consistent. It was usually around .07% of 100mbps. He didn't notice long map loads or delays in driving, that includes both me watching him and him watching me..
I don't think 400kbps per person was right, however i still am curious at the exact number. I can't get more than 5mbps around here due to the bad quality isps. I looked into business class yet it's the same as consumer class, just with a few extra features i can get around easily (static ip - don't change routers).

That's probably where that number you got comes from. Unfortunately I don't have any numbers too.
When you want to host your own server, you're better off renting a dedicated or virtual server somewhere anyway. They've got nice internet connection (not only bandwidth counts), run even when you shut down your computer and you don't have to take care of NAT, etc.
If you really want to host it at home, be sure to disable P2P in the server config. It isn't needed for custom skins, so it doesn't matter if you turn it off. If it's just for very few players it might be okay.

Thanks. I'll have the hardware to do so and am going into networking anyhow, so it's natural to want to make sure my network can handle it. I don't see the reason to pay $70 or so on something i could probably handle myself, and if need be i will buy a little faster upload, if i can handle it that is.. It's just not the same to rent compare to own your own anyhow, i lose experience i could get (like i gained running a few blade servers, god i hate them now) and at the same time can reuse the parts too for other uses. (I also HATE upnp, needs to die

)
Thanks for the quote by the way. That makes me feel much better since i did notice my upload spike during a map change. Though being a max of 750KB i might have slight delays with 10-20 people unless i upgrade.
To the others, thanks for letting me know. I didn't know if i should have kept the server's p2p helping functions enabled to assist in faster p2p transfer. Since it's fine without server help then i'm shutting it off.
And thanks for the plugin, that's the kind of stuff i'm looking for. Now i can monitor it and see.
