No fullscreen, no vsync [solved]

Anyone else having this problem?
I can't get the game to go real fullscreen, in any resolution.
The least bad (not calling it best because it's not a good alternative) alternative is windowed fullscreen where I'm locked to 1920x1080. Can't select a different resolution in the "cog menu".
The game always starts in a non-fullscreen window, no matter what settings I use.
My screen has a native res of 2560x1440 so obviously I want to play in that resolution... I do *not* have multiple monitors.
Win10 64 bit, GTX 960 4GB with latest drivers.
There also seems to be no way to get it to sync to the screens refresh rate, fps is all over the place and the game feels extremely laggy, almost unplayable.
I tried forcing vsync in the nVidia control panel but even then no luck. Setting a max fps of 60 works but then it feels even laggier.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Edit: Hint: Uninstall the drivers really clean, e.g. using driver cleaner, and install the drivers again (see second page for a link).

Please open your file explorer, go where your windows documents are located and find the folder Trackmania Turbo and there in the folder Config delete the file Default.SystemConfig.Gbx.
This will be created again automatically with default settings as the name says.
I have GTX970 and no problem with full screen also no problem with vsync, only that the game somehow behaves slower (just a personal impression) at 60fps compared to the default without vsync at ~150fps.

That didn't help.. Still no working fullscreen or vsync
Only thing that happened was that my settings got reset (which was expected

)

Did you also try using F11 to switch between different modes (Window, WindowFull, Fullscreen)?
And did you also try to select a different resolution inside the game (top bar menu)?
Final question: are you using DSR?

Yep, it never uses fullscreen, only window and windowfull.
I tried pretty much every resolution available in the menu but nothing happens when I apply and exit the menu, it just stays in whatever setting it's in (windowed or windowfull).
I'm not sure wether or not I'm using DSR.
DSR - Factors is set to Off in the nVidia control panel, but I'm not sure if that means DSR is not being used. To be honest this was the first time I'd even heard of DSR..

Ok, then it was off.
Hm, in DirectX applications, normally also ALT+ENTER also allows to swich between modes.
Which other applications have you running in parallel? Anything that could use the video card.
Fraps etc.

Alt-Enter does the same, it switches between windowed and windowfull.
I've used Fraps to verify if vsync was enabled or not but running it or not does not seem to affect things at all. Other than that, I have nothing special running that might be using the card, as far as I'm aware anyway.
Is there a way to get a log file or something? Maybe there would be some hints in there as to why it's not using fullscreen modes.

Yeah, sure, with the debug version.
I'll insert the link in a few.
Here at the end of the first post.
Otherwise, if nothing helps, I would recommend you to reinstall the nVidia drivers - with deleting the old settings.
I'm using 361.43 driver version btw., it has no problem with Turbo.
This version has is one bug in the nVidia control panel that leads to a bluescreen if I click to fast there,
otherwise all fine.

Thanks! I'll give that a try first
Then if that doesn't give any more info, I'll try reinstalling the drivers with all settings cleared.
I'm using 364.51, just updated yesterday or the day before after this fullscreen problem became apparent.

I'm guessing that empty display mode list is not good...
I'll try and reinstall the drivers and see if that helps at all.
