Hi Guys !

I have modeled textured my own 3d Car and want to import it into Trackmania I have been following this Tutorial (http://hideou.se/trackmania/).
I have one question and one problem.
First the problem at step 8 with importing through console I get an error saying I don't have permission note here that I m trying this on a Steam Game and my Steam Games are stored on my D: Drive.
Here is a screenshot altough its in Hungarian maybe you can spot an error.

Secondly the question I modeled it in Maya so I exported the model in .obj and not in 3ds. I don't know how to convert .obj withouth having 3ds Max or is it enough if I have it in .obj format ?

If you need more info or could direct me to a good tutorial I would appreciate that

Hi :)

I don't know how to resolve your problem, however I suggest you to use ConvertAssistant, an excellent tool for 3D objects and models converting (you can find it and how to use it in this topic: https://forum.maniaplanet.com/viewtopic.php?t=18999). You will not need to struggle with the console anymore ;)

About the file format, I don't think OBJ format is supported (didn't tried yet), but converting models in 3DS and DAE formats works perfectly.

yea, i recommend it for objects, fonts or characters too.. in other words: it's the interface for the cmd application and pretty easy to use ^^

Ye just after posting I saw the ConvertAssistant and I figured out that in Maya you can export DAE files so that was resolved altough now I have a problem with the Convert Assistant would not be me if it would have worked at first try  .
So I created under Document\Trackmania a folder named Work as suggested and then imported it into the converter end after converting I get this strange message (no solution found on google).

I fear that I might have this issue because my steam games are on the D:\ Drive but all the others stuff for Steam is on C:\ but I m not sure.

If the UserData Folder is on the right place (you can check it by testing other custom cars quickly), you have the Work Folder and then create Skins and then Models Folder. Then if you want the folder of the specific environment (Valley, Canyon, Stadium, Lagoon)

If you have this structure, create the folder of your project, for example "MyShittyCar" ^^ In this folder have to be all files of the model.
