Hi guys.

Concept
To make Fun, Simple, Gimmicky, Unique Tracks that have just the right balance of fun and frustration and are short enough to keep that "one more go" feeling.

Each track should stick with people, instantly memorable due to their simplicity and unique concepts which are easily described with easy to remember, catchy names.

As such i will be dedicating some of my free time over the coming weeks to bring you some tracks that i hope you will all enjoy

About Me
I'm a professional Game Developer currently working in the Game Industry as a Senior Designer, and I'm hoping i can translate some of the things I've learnt over the past years to create some fun tracks for the community.
Its been a while since i designed and created something for fun :)

Where YOU come in
Have you got an Idea or concept you would like to be explored and built?
If so, feel free to post suggestions here and I'l see what i can do :)

TRACK LIST
This is where i will be posting all of my Tracks
It would be extremely valuable if you could leave honest, constructive feedback and rate, comment after playing.
Also if you found a track fun, please recommend it Here

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rat Maze : TrackID #2004
Type : Race, Shortcuts, Point to Point

A fast paced Tunnel Run though a rat maze like track with a few handy shortcuts.
Ideal for both the beginner and intermediate player thanks to its simplistic standard route, allowing room to grow with the more unforgiving short cuts.

Faster Faster : TrackID #1500
Type : Short, Speed, Funny, Laps

A very short and extremely fast paced level with just the right amount of challenge.
Take laps around a simple circuit, behind each corner lies a speed booster and as such, the longer you can hold the speed without hitting a wall, the faster your lap time will be.
Hold the drift long enough after a lap or 2 and you will continue to get faster and faster, allowing you to further improve your lap time.

On Coming Traffic : TrackID #1657
Type : Short, Speed, Point to Point

A Short, Tech, Full Speed track with a twist.
Start facing the wrong way down the end straight, avoid the boost panels the first time around, or you might find yourself back at the start. You will need those boost panels on the way back, but don't expect to be landing on all 4 wheels at the finish line.

dodo's tracks for Stadium, IMHO, are the perfect balance of all those adjectives you used. When I build tracks I often think of what dodo would do... mine are a tad longer, but usually still mini (~30 sec).

I think you should try and show ways to use the main road type blocks to show the community what fun tracks can be made with those. Everybody is using the GP/arena blocks for huge slides, etc. We need some masters focusing on the narrow blocks. Also bonus points if you can "teach" players that FS is not necessarily the best way. IMHO.

Thanks I'l checkout Dodo's work tonight.

When you say main road, do you mean the bumpy thinner desert roads? If so, I've been experimenting with those recently, trying to find a nice balance between speed, predictability, challenge and luck as the bumps in those roads can really upset the skill>luck ratio at the higher speeds, which can sometimes be a good thing ^^.

Also, what do you mean by FS? I'm brand new to the community so I'm not up to date on all the game related abbreviation and terminology. However I'm assuming you mean the drifting? If so, you'l be pleased to know I've got a few plans for grip tracks :)

Well main road proper is the bumpy desert road, but I would say it also includes all the other two-lane riads like canyon wall or arena tunnel.

FS = full speed, or not letting up on the gas.

Ahh I see

A non FS track would be interesting, especially considering FS is such a huge feature of the game, in fact I don't think I have come across a single level that the "go" button isn't held down the entire time (with the exception for initiating a drift)

I think what plays well to TM is the fact that almost any level can be completed "perfectly" with the loud pedal down the entire way (just with greater repercussions on collisions), however I can think of a few exceptions where you would want to let off, so it is definitely worth looking into :)

Thanks for the input and you can be expecting a level dedicated to it in the coming weeks :) in fact If you have a few minutes spare it would be good to get your input on the level before release so I'l throw a PM your way when the time comes :)

I hate to make this kind of post, but seriously, if you think a circle with boosters makes your track a 'tech' track, you have no idea what tech means. Both of your tracks should replace 'tech' with 'lol'

If I have a concept or idea I'll build it myself. This is TM! :D

I think that's the goal of every track maker in TM, or at least should be.
Nicely worded though.
