Disagreed too !
Look my post : viewtopic.php?f=626&t=42775&sid=b674bf4 ... a359af3228

the documentation is incomplete or at least remains vague on certain part preventing me from being able to launch and use PyPlanet.

I have the habit of configuring servers, whatever they are, but for once there is something wrong with the procedure, which is certainly obvious for the developers but which is not for the user outside the project ....

So think either to simplify your installation or to clarify the documentation.

good to you

A disappointed user

Hey Pilax,

It's quite sad to hear that your experience with installing wasn't successful. As the main developer and the one who wrote the installation instructions, it might be a bit hard for end-users. It's always very hard to write those instructions yourself when you are developing and working with Python every day.

Did it work anyway? Or did you get it to work in any way? I really want to improve the documentation, but I can't do it without feedback and help from the end-users.

Thanks,
Toffe

Hey Toffe,

Thank you for your answer.
I haven't been able to solve my problem yet.
I admit to having made several attempts, but without result, I am still stuck at the same point.

I know and realize that it is not easy to do a documentation when you are the head in the code, and that we know his tool by heart, we often tend to forget the basics;)
I am confronted with this regularly in my work of "master of work" (MOA - Maitrise d'ouvrage in french) :)

If you want, I can help you to improve your end-user guide, already by finding where the problem arises concerning me, can be something missing or of blur in the documentation.

In the future I could eventually establish the French translation of the documentation if the dev-team wishes.

Thanks,

Pilax

That would be awesome.
For now, let's investigate and fix your current setup and then focus on what was missing in the documentation that is leading to this situation.
Do you have Discord, so we can speed up the investigation and don't spam the forums? My Discord is: Toffe#8999 (problem is that I have very limited time until Sunday).

I hope we can manage to get it working and the french text would be awesome
