Breaking down language barriers

Hi,

We desperately need some kind of automatic translation system into other languages. Build in into TM or as a plung-in in MLEPP or FoxControl. I want to talk to someone, who doesn't understand english or german! One big problem is, that Google killed their language API some time ago, so we have to find an alternative to them. Maybe you at Nadeo can find a solution?

Please don't underestimate the quality these systems can provide. Sure, Translating from or into something else than english may be a problem, but translating from or to english may solve 80% of all these problems.

Thank you,

Hammer

I agree with the interest of such things

I would recommand to Nadeo Live to look after the paying API which cost $20 per million of character translated. Then we can set up a limitation based on planets to avoid too many calls but still enable it for most useful uses.

A better solution might be to extend your horizons on learning languages.

i know 3 1/2.

I know a little french. I can read it but i cant talk it.

I can talk english very good... :P

Know Dutch which is my mother tongue and German which is something you must learn if you live near the German border.

other problem solver might be to use google and type translate api.

That's the problem, w1lla. Google is shutting that free service API down in order to market a pay-to-use API. Bulls**t I know, but w/e, they lost the race once Bing came out.

I've never seen any point in that translation stuff.
I just want people to know a bit English so we can communicate. If you can't communicate, why is there any need for chatting then?

Communication in this game is mostly for social reasons, so I don't know if a translator will be sufficient.

A translator would work much better in games with specific terminology and team communication. In LoL you can easily communicate if you know "ss", "top", "mid", "bot", "dragon", "baron", "b", "tank", "carry", "support", "focus", "def", "push", "noob", "idiot", "retard", "troll" and "feeder" because that's 95% of what is said in game whereas I've seen people discuss politics in TM...
