Unable to download anything through Maniaplanet

Hi, I've been trying to install updates for TM2 games and download TM2 Valley, but it doesn't work. It will sit at 0%, or eventually start (after about 5 minutes) and at 10-20% says "Unable to connect to server (12002)". I live in the USA, so that might be part of the problem, however I've never had this problem until now. I bet it's a very easy fix but I need to know. I am using steam if that's part of it. Thanks
