Other players can't hear my edited horn on my dedicated server

Hi !
My friends and I made custom horns that we share with locators. They are working fine for everyone on every server exept for me on my dedicated server : I hear my horn but other players can't, while their horns are working fine.
They can hear my horn on the basic server that i can create in the ingame multiplayer menu tho.
Custom skins are working fine.
Why can they see my custom skin but can't hear my custom horn ? Am I missing something ?
I added a copy of it and the locator in "MyServerFolder/UserData/Skins/Horns"
I am playing on Trackmania² Stadium.
I am running the latest version of the dedicated server and i use ManiaControl for the local records.
I play on the same computer that host the server. ( I join the server via the Local Host menu )
dedicated_cfg.txt server_port is 2351, p2p port is 3451, p2p upload and download are enabled ( enabled aswell in the ManiaControl interface )
Ports 2350 ; 3450 ; 5000 ; 2351 ; 3451 ; 5001 are open in my router.
Game and server are allowed by my firewall.

Where does the locator point to? Also, the locator should be on your local computer next to your horn file, not the dedicated server. (eg, MyHorn.ogg.loc)

The locator point to my horn hosted on my dropbox.
The locator is on my local computer, next to my horn file.
I added a copy of both in the dedicated server in case it was the problem. ( There is a folder named Horns in it )
As I said the horn work fine everywhere except on my dedicated server.

Post the link to youre dropbox here , see if we can download the file.
Dunno if it works with dropbox.

Direct link to my horn :
https://www.dropbox.com/s/og9vow4t56rqo ... 2.wav?dl=1
Am I the only one having trouble with this ? Can't find similarities on the forums.
I guess it is because i have to join the server via the local menu instead of the multiplayer one ?

This problem does have some recurring history and there are several discussions in these forums, some with odd solutions.
E.g.

Cheers

I can download from your link.
We've been struggling with skin/horn/etc transfers also, and right now due to some firmware upgrade on my router, if I have NAT acceleration turned on, I am forced to join my server via the Local Network... I was able to see some skins last Friday after the server/client update, but no luck with the horns either.
Kind of off-topic, but potentially relevant: I did discover that I can join my server through the normal means (via internet) if I disable NAT acceleration on my router, but then I lose 1/2 my internet speeds so I leave it on so I can enjoy the greater speeds. I haven't tested getting on other servers to see if I can finally receive my clan's horns/skins/etc. but will try that next.
If it works, I wonder if you're on to something @Hase with the notion that joining via LAN and having others joining via Internet is causing additional problems?

That's a link to your file download page, not the direct link to your Dropbox file. The correct direct link is:
Code: Select all
https://uc7fd27e5a1450616e224963edab.dl.dropboxusercontent.com/cd/0/get/ALAYkUrGykhp1cARFjCIulOuUiJrc1rygoCdJyHMwSxIpjjVeXHRYNHlrtHQFapv1O0u_9UYbojQ9pgkTk0gGuO3sp2FenWP8cff4LL_H7oIkC-b9RRRgWBNaa0TWy8GSMm_j_RSoyjPtHPOAkoexGj_tadHxnB7JwAtM9jlFml62xBiXuyL9pFkkC2FyCeTVtY/file?dl=1
(which also seems to be abnormally long, considering how other Dropbox direct link I've seen are much shorter).

And looking at the link its not a forced downloadlink.
And for that reason i swapped over to google drive instead of dropbox to be able to create a forced downloadlink.
Perhaps that is something you should try.
Good luck

I don't understand how it is not a direct link / forced downloadlink.
If you guys click on it don't you instantly download it ?
Why do you think it has something to do with dropbox ?
Why would my horns locators work on every other servers but not on the dedicated one ?
I hosted everything on google drive, I'll ask a friend if it works tomorrow.
@fng_thatoneguy
I couldn't find NAT acceleration on my router, I wonder if people would hear your horn on your own server if you manage to join it via the multiplayer interface.
Please keep me informed if other players can hear your horn on other servers. It might be the case.
Hopefully a developper will notice this topic and confirm if hosts can't share their horns or if we are missing something.
