I can't find any information on this forum - nor any official statements regarding TM2 Canyon since the MP4.1 update.
However a very popular topic of conversation between us regular players and also overwhelmingly unanymous opinion is present that with the MP4.1 update - TM2 Canyon physics were changed for the worse.
First of all one of the most iconic moves and techniques in Canyon: Two wheeling. either Fullspeed or while drifting - it's simply broken.
Drifting and going onto two wheels is necessary and in a lot of cases completely unavoidable but doing so punishes your speed now compared to pre 4.1 update times.
Taking fullspeed lines and going onto two wheels has been an iconic feature of Canyon which allowed us to turn faster and keep a smooth fullspeed line, this is punished even harsher now as it feels like the car slams back onto the ground and gives you a slowdown.
This we can combine into a commonly used term lately by us, "The two wheel bug".
This renders pretty much all really good dedi's on refined maps useless because they can no longer be contested - the overall speed in 4.1 is simply slower because of this so called bug. This is not an opinion of mine - this is like I said a very unanymous response from the entire community around me - we all feel like time attacking maps with good dedi's is no longer fun because good times can no longer be achieved. On top of that some maps (Some of which my own) simply feel broken now because the intended line can no longer be taken.
Aside from this "Two Wheel Bug" I feel like it's simply a result of a more underlying issue : a heavier Canyon Car.
Some of us go beyond this two wheel bug and report that the Canyon car simply feels slightly heavier since 4.1. I am one of these people. Some of us make it our hobby to drive Canyon tracks to their maximum potential so we feel every change ever so slightly and I personally feel like the car turns slightly more sluggish. This is speculation because opinions are divided - but other people are free to add their experience to this topic.
What I am dissapointed with however :
From some key figures in the TM community - and I won't name any names right now - this physics change has allegedly been reported and is being worked on - but I can't find any information. I don't see any statements, I don't see any plans. I don't see any bug reports - I don't see any plans for bug fixes. What gives?
TM2 Canyon is still played by a lot players and a lot of us are very passionate about the game. The game currently feels broken and I blame myself AND my community that we haven't been more vocal about these issues until now.
I do not think that we're ready to accept that we'll simply have to get used to new physics - as there are players that put in thousands of hours to perfect their skill at this game - and there are tens of thousands of dedimania entries that could be rendered useless in a very similar fashion to old MP3 world records that are still being beaten today - except in 4.1 we're now slower, meaning the thrill of getting a world record on a refined track IS NOW GONE.
I thought I would take one for the team and be the one to first bring this up publically.

Re: Radio Silence: TM2 Canyon Physics bug
+1, haven't heard anything about fixing this bug yet. Thanks for writing the thread, Phoebe, after talking with Haagse last night I was also thinking of writing a thread this morning.
The 2 wheeling thing is really the biggest issue here imo. It really changes the dynamics of a LOT of tracks. A suspicion me and many others have is that this change is somehow related to the Desert car's 2-wheeling, which may be conflicting with Canyon in some way. But it might be a completely wrong theory.
Back when MP4 was first released, there was also a Canyon Car change, but that was not as obvious as this one. This one is a much bigger change. We need it fixed, Nadeo! Please!

Re: Radio Silence: TM2 Canyon Physics bug
The TM2 Canyon physics bug is affecting the canyoncommunity in a negative way, think of all the maps that cant be played anymore as before.
Besides that, its the 2nd change of the canyonphysics in a short time.
Because we had a change already going into MP4.0 and now again.
I also do know people of our community are working on it and guiding NADEO to solve the issue.
But I still do believe its nescessary to show our feelings about it, and our fear it wont be solved.
I am familiar with a lot of players in this community and heared a lot of negative sounds such as i am not playing this game anymore, its not fun anymore and a lot of them really think to actually stop playing.
So please make this issue an urgent one because it would be really sad if we get a loss on this community instead of attracting new players!

Re: Radio Silence: TM2 Canyon Physics bug
hi all,
We are trying to find where the difference comes from.
Not an easy task, because since last year, a lot of code has changed.
Stay tuned !

Sure thing, keep awesome work up!

Re: Radio Silence: TM2 Canyon Physics bug
I found one possible reason for the physics change.
Is there an easy way for me to compare the behaviour ?
maybe a replay ? or a simple map clearly showing the broken behaviour ?
(what was possible before and no longer possible now ?)
thanks

Re: Radio Silence: TM2 Canyon Physics bug
I think people found the end of B04 canyon (I think, not exactly sure!) is not possible with fs route (or two wheel, not sure as I said.)
Re: Radio Silence: TM2 Canyon Physics bug
Maybe give us "Press Forward" maps that doesn't work anymore so we can see the diffs

Re: Radio Silence: TM2 Canyon Physics bug
The replay's are made by Mebe, a really good canyonplayer, on the map B04
The current B04 strategy at the end of the map is to go tight inside and two wheel. However, with Maniaplanet 4.1, this is no longer possible as the car cancels itself and slows down the car. With this, maps such as B04 are no longer possible to beat within the solo and multiplayer maps online.
1) Replay made on MP4.0 (2 wheel turn start at 26 seconds)
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/ ... Replay.Gbx
2) Replay made on MP4.1 (2 wheel turn start at 26 seconds)
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/ ... Replay.Gbx
nb A comparison replay from GB on Monophobia (the last part: the 2 wheel FS Downhill)
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/ ... Replay.Gbx
Greetz,
add Its more on the slowing down of the car while turning on 2 wheels then about the behaviour on pf maps.

Re: Radio Silence: TM2 Canyon Physics bug
Hi,
it's not really ontopic, but Lagoon was better with the (new) physics!
Since yesterdays update, the physics in Lagoon feels more bad to me.
I made a thread about it here:
