Hello Guys,

as my post says... i cant get any skins working i download from maniaplanet.

but a friend send me this one https://www.dropbox.com/s/spuubw07tcjdh ... in.7z?dl=0 and that one is working
than i found out that alot of skins have a skin as zip file and the loc file is a zip.loc file..... all those skins dont work

the one in my first link has:
david_s auto.Skin.Pack
and
david_s auto.Skin.Pack.Gbx.loc

this one works, i opened the locfile to see why it works and it has a link init when u paste it in the browser u download the skin rigth away.
now i found an other skin with same files.... but that one is not showing up.

what is it with these skins all of them not working in multiplayer.... any idea?

Better use Google Drive instead of Dropbox for locators.
How?

Make the google drive links forced to download:
Usually links from Google Drive look like this:

Code: Select all

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0Bx0m4lXACmehWk1FUHdyaW9CUzQ
Change that into

Code: Select all

https://drive.google.com/uc?export=download&id=0Bx0m4lXACmehWk1FUHdyaW9CUzQ
Place the forcedownloadlink in a locator and its done ;)

Greetz,

for example i download this skin http://www.maniapark.com/ressource.php?id=2239

to get it to work i have to place the loc file and the zip file in commoncars folder, than open the zip folder and copy and paste the Model.Pack (gbx file) out of the zip into the commoncars folder and rename it to Lotus_Exige.Skin.Pack

so now i have 3 files in commoncars

1) Lotus_Exige.Skin.Pack (Gbx File)
2) Lotus_Exige.Skin.Pack.Gbx.zip.loc (Loc File)
3) Lotus_Exige.Skin.Pack.Gbx (Compressed (Zipped) Folder)

if i join my server and my friends join they can see my skin...... why is it made like that and not just plug and play?... dont understand a thing why its so complicated
