Local multiplayer - Splitscreen - broken and useless

Trying to play LOCAL -> LOCAL MULTI -> SPLITSCREEN (with 4 players, but 2 players, same issue)
- the screen divides in 4 quadrants alright but only the top-left shows a player and a track. The other three show the score and UI but on pitchblack. No track, no player, no nothing.
- when in Multiplayer, no way to exit and go back to the main menu
- settings have # of laps set to -1 ....?
additionally, When trying to file a bugreport in-game:
- The text on top is missing words. it says "...For a more detailed report go to the"
- there's no way to add text to this useless feature??
- the "report on the forum" is linked to a page at Ubisoft that, for me (and I am logged in) just shows "you do not have permission to access this page"
- the Ubisoft forums don't even HAVE a Trackmania part

(maybe a little hidden when the rest of the screen is black though..)
